98 or 99? If it is 99+ and you are using the OBD1 Civic harness, it will not work.
99+ Clusters RPM gauge were measured through the ECU, not via wire.
To simplify this, get the under dash harness.

I put a 00 si dash into my 92 hatch and had the same problem, the ground was loose, tightened it and it worked like new.

Re: gsr dash into eg problems... (SPOON_BeIgHtEeNsEe)
this is a question unrelated to the wiring, but has to do with the actual act of getting the dash into the car...
(i am under the assumption you have a fifth gen hatch.)
what type of fabrication did you have to do with the dash to get it into the car?
ie: what did you have to cut out, etc... since the dashes are completely different. also... did you have to do anything to compensate for the different sizes ... such as with door panels, etc.
thanks in advance if you have time to reply.

look for WykidEG6 on this board, he's done it and can help you out (I was at his house when he was working on it, it works great).

2) You DO NOT have to use the Integra side mounts all. That is bogus. You would just have to be creative and drill the plate mount to match up with the GSR dash.
3) It is not that simple to cross reference the wires into the "correct location." Keep in mind, you are using OBD1 harness + OBD2 Cluster.
I had it in my vehicle and the WHOLE under dash harness was necessary for the install. It was basically just plug and play with the exception of relocating 2 wires.
To make the heater valve work properly, I would recommend using the Integra Heater Valve.

Re: gsr dash into eg problems... (blackshadow1978)
i would use an integra heater core so all the vents line up. i didn't have to drill new holes in the side mounts(i pushed the dash in while my cuz put in the bolts...took some time but it worked). i used all the teg wiring and both fuse boxes. hth.

Re: gsr dash into eg problems... (cycocivic)
this cluster came out of a 00' auto teg. wiring was a snap and i have had no problems whatsoever. so whoever said that the obd2 cluster will need the underdash wiring harness is wrong. proof right here. you just have to do a little searching on here. sorry for the blurry pic
