Joe P MBC installed, running 9 psi now
I installed the Joe P MBC tonight and set the boost to 9 psi. It was a pain in the *** because I had to keep adjusting it until I found out what was 9 psi, but I finally found it. At first I had a little pinging at 9 psi above 5K rpms. I then retarded the timing a bit and raised the static fuel pressure from 50 psi to 57 psi. The pinging went away! I was so stoked! The car pulls like a deranged psycho demon on crack!

That's why I got the TurboXS HP MBC. I know that one turn on the coarse screw is one PSI! But 9 is lots of fun, huh? I turned mine back down to 8 until I get the WG dumped into the exhaust and get it on the dyno!

Re: Joe P MBC installed, running 9 psi now (dlplayboy)
Well, the instructions tell you how to calibrate it. If I remember right, you turned it one way or the other until the mechanism is "snug" (the ball does not rattle when you shake the MBC). That's the scientific part
Doing that put me at like 4.8 PSI, and I am running a Tial with the smallest spring, which I think is like 4.7 PSI or something like that. So, the initial setting got me pretty close to what it would be without the MBC. Then, you turn one full turn counter clockwise on the coarse adjustment screw to turn it up one PSI. Then you can fine tune with the fine adjustment screw if you want.
