JDM 4-1, Fujitsubo RM01A & Carsound Cat
After rockin' the Comptech Icebox as my only mod for a period of 5 years, I have decided to buy a new header and exhaust. I've been searching for days on here for anything related and have found quite a bit, however I do not feel comfortable enough to make a purchase yet.
I found some threads praising the Fujitsubo exhaust system. I listened to some sounds clips, ect. Seems like I'm going w/ this one. Then I discovered that I would need a JDM 4-1 header and a different cat in order for it to fit.
My questions are:
1. If I go w/ this combo, is there anything in particular I will have to have in addition? Gaskets ect.?
2. If I wanted to go w/ a header that eliminates the cat, what which ones would be compatible size wise and which will offer the best performance? Money is not really a concern, I want the best and I don't want it to be "buzzy".
Thanks for your help.

Re: JDM 4-1, Fujitsubo RM01A & Carsound Cat (eurodeseo)
:waves hello: long time no see.
Time for your 2nd mod =
Cat:
-will need to be the correct lenght for the application. Not sure if smsp makes one for this combo.
Cat back:
-might have to make the length adjustments at the inlet to the RM01A to get the diameter correct and to make room for the larger carson cat (over the JDM cat).
Gaskets:
-header to the cat (larger than OEM)
-head to header if yours is in rough shape (the OEM will work)
Header hanger:
-if you are AR like me... I picked up the jdm rear hanger bracket. (not required)
It should not be buzzy at all.

Contact SMSP and tell him you need a 2.5 JDM length cat and he'll make one for you. Thats what I use with my RM01a and it fits perfectly with JDM length header and includes all new bolts and etc.

Re: (Opie)
I have this exact combo
Mugen JDM 4-1, SMSP cat, RM01A exhaust. It is really nice and not overbearing in terms of sound. I definitely noticed a difference in VTEC in both power and sound after adding these items, the sound is great!

I've had great results in recommending the Fujitsubo to my customers. Everyone has been very happy with their purchase thus far. You really can't go wrong there. If you have any questions with length and fitment, I'd be happy to answer any questions.
I also recommend SMSP for a cat to use in this or any application with an aftermarket header and exhaust system. I use them in any application I can and deal with them direct. It's great to have Dave within a 45 minute drive from us here.

Re: JDM 4-1, Fujitsubo RM01A & Carsound Cat (Willard)
These gaskets that you speak of, will they be included with the exhaust, header, cat or is it something you have to pick up separate?
I'm also planning on going with the Toda/Fujitsubo/SMSP Cat combo very soon - I have actually been toying with the idea for quite some time now...
Where did you guys pick all this stuff up at? I've seen the exhaust for as low as $740 and the header for $950 shipped. Do you guys know of any good deals?
Also, will this combo pass DEQ or will it throw any codes?

Re: JDM 4-1, Fujitsubo RM01A & Carsound Cat (Hacemuy)
The fujitsubo system will supply the cat back gaskets you need. The SMSP prepped cats I sell are also complete with everthing you need to bolt right up. The header should come with the donut you will need, or that can be ordered seperate if not included.
I am also going to be doing this same setup on my R. I have a SPOON header on now but want more ground clearance. The Toda is a nice peice and will complement the Fujitsubo nicely!
As for codes, they will pop up once at breakin, just rest and off you go. I just had my first cell pop up after some 25-30K miles with my current SMSP prepped cat and SPOON header, stock exhaust. I was happy!
Need anymore help, PM me. Also check out my sig!
Thanks,
Victor

How much are you selling the catalytic converter? Does it have the secondary sensor bung? thanks. My header is 4-1 JDM ITR header and Fujitsubo RM01A catback.
