Default spray painting a lip kit? who has tryed/seen it?

Well i was going to try to get a can of the color match paint at the dealer in white EP3 white what ever that is and paint my lip kit... now how crappy will this look, crappy as in good from a distance but once you are right up to the car will look like ****? or just look like **** altogether.

My lip is spray painted. Looks alright, doesn't shine though and chips easily. I'm getting it painted correctly after winter is over.

did you clear coat it? i would be doing front rear and side lips and a wing

i spray painted by entire front bumper and lip on my 94 hatch. it doesn't look that bad, i used a whole can of clear. It looks really good from a distance, but up close u can tell i sprayed it. i say do, it wont look that bad if u do it rite

well now my friend said get a cheap 15$ spray gun and we will just paint it and wet sand it and so on... you think that will do?

I Say if you are getting a full lip kit,spend The $ and get it painted for real.. **** even if its maaco Dont spraybomb it.

make sure you prime it after you scuff it w/scuff pad, and clean w/ solvent, so the white has a good base and color underneath wont bleed through. Use nice thick even coats from side to side. After your done with the color let it sit until it flashes...45 min. or so, and clear coat leaving a few minutes in between each coat

my entire bumper is spray painted. its obvious i think. although, it doesnt look terrible..

i dono oh maybe its because im a college kid, just spent 11k on a new car and o wait now im poor so i guess i am that cheap we arent talking about a obx vs fadanza flywheel here where quality is either going to help you or hurt you, its paint, its preferance.. simple as that

i think what KraZEtEggIE was trying to say was to save up a little money, get it all painted right the first time and then put it on. that way you wont have to worry about rock chips as much

no. this is the 94-97 bumper with a wingwest lip.

i have the same lip...

well there will be no more money after this, i dono if you are in college or are going to college but when you are there you spend your money fast when you dont work, and what ever i have left over goes to a 401k I said i wasnt spray painting it anymore i decided i was going to buy a cheap 20$ paint gun from harbor freight and have my friend that works at a body shop do it for me, it may not look the best because of the gun but i figure it will shine better and will last longer

i wouldnt cheap out on that get it painted right i would understand if it was a beater but come on its not that much money to get the job done right
