ATS Garage's white DB8 and Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara, Ca
This is a repost for you HONDA-TECH members thinking about getting your wheels painted, repaired, redone, and/or straightened.
I used them last year in FEB 2005 and here's the results -
---------------
I ran over a step or level change in the toll plaza on the Dumbarton Bridge back in Feb 05' - My WORK wheel was damaged and didn't want to cough up $550 for a new one and have 1 great cherry rim (that would take 2 months to get here) and 3 average looking ones.
So Here's what my rim looked like when I damaged it -
INSIDE of the RIM
I also had a few scratches on the other rim(s) and here they are:
Here's what the rims looked like in the OG silver -
So I decided to go with the GOLD color and have them repair the bent rim and re-do all the lips and re-surface my foggy caps -
Here's how they turned out:
Inside the damaged hub
On the DB8:
Overall, I think they did a GREAT JOB - The inner HUBS were so polished it looked close to chrome and so shiny - No runs or bleeds or drips in the paint and my new caps were shiny and not foggy again. The whole process took 3 days and Paul let me come anytime during the day to watch the process. They didn't mask the hub or outer rim to paint them like mpst shops would. Paul had the entire rim taken apart and each piece was done individually. All this (repair the bent rim, re-do all the road rash lips, repolish the hubs, and refine the plastic caps for $500 - NOT BAD IN MY OPINION - I was originally quoted $650 but after a little wheel and dealing with the owner and a promise to help advertise his great skills, he lowered it! -
Hope this helps anyone asking about Wheel Techniques - Hearing it from a member or fellow street car enthusiast....and not some random ghost trying to plug them for $$$ LOL
I wanted to go to a place closer to home (UNION CITY) like wheels america but they wont repair bent rims and most paint shops cost an arm and leg for ok jobs that'll take 2-3 weeks....
Jeff is the co-owner and is a nice guy! - the address is:
3280 Edward Ave, Unit D , Santa Clara, Ca 94054
408-496-6363
tell him JUNIOR sent you from JDM Theory!

TRUE but if you already invested in expensive JDM rims, you might as well - I think $350 was well worth it though : )
thanks!

UH YEAH - I wanted to let fellow Bay Area heads know what a LEGIT shop it is - I know with NOR-CAL streets and shitty freeways, most of you need some help with your wheels...I know I did! : )
