Apexi WS2 sound & Pspec short shifter
Can somoene tell me how the sound of a Apexi WS2 exhaust sounds compared to stock exhaust? If not, does anyone know a link to a site that may have the exhaust sound in a file?
I would also like to know any opinions of the Pspec short shifter. I'm thinking about getting one soon.
Thanks
Oh, one more thing. Does anyone know how much the stock wheels weigh on a 96 EX? I don't have the stock wheels but I'm going to get some new wheels sometime soon.

I have a Apexi WS2 on my 6th gen, and here is a vid of what it sounds like:

The muffler is stainless steel, the piping is stainless steel wrapped in titanium. Technically it should rust, but thats only if it goes through snow and rain everyday. Other than that it should last for awhile. I had my hangers raised, so mine doesnt hang as low. Dunno how diff. it would sound on a 5th gen since the engines are a bit different.

I will post of some picture and a clip of mine tomorrow. I installed the WS2 + Injen CAI and I love it. Sounds really nice. Nice and deep, does not sound rice at all. I have a 2001 Honda Accord 4 cyl, 4 dr. It does hang kind of low, but it sound really deep.
Edit: On a side note, the exhuast is really close to stock. Only difference is you can hear it on acceleration, but just crusing and idling you can't even hear the exhuast. But on WOT, it lets out a pretty low growl. Not a fart cannon.

Re: (concept11253)
XzIpK, the links to the files didn't work.
Thanks for the replies.
Did you guys install the exhausts yourselves or did you take it someplace? If I did it, how hard would it be and how would I go about shortening the hangars? Would it be a good idea to buy some new hangers to shorten or use the ones I have?
I don't really want the exhaust to hang lower than it is now since I have the car lowered. I don't remember what springs I used but they only lowered the car around an inch.

Hmm, the files work for me and for other people on other forums? If you have 56k, let it load a bit. I got mine installed at a shop, since I didn't have time or the right tools to do it anyway. I knew the guy there and it took about 30 mins and he charged me the shop minimum. Since its bolt on, it should be pretty fast and cheap. As for the hangers, they heated mine up to shrink them a bit, but he said once I lower my car, he wants to take a look at it again and bring it up more.

The exhaust is a really really simple install as long as you get one made to fit the stock hangers in your car. The hardest part is removing the bolts from the cat. Especially seeing that you drive a 5th gen, your gonna need alot of WD-40. Or just a blow torch. I would recommend having a friend help you. You need to either be extra strong to hold the exhaust with one hand while hanging it or have a friend hold it or prop it up. Should take no longer then an hour. Intakes are a little more difficult if you have to remove your bumper.

I installed my exhaust myself and have done a few exhaust systems in my day and would reccomend doing it yourself. Basically the hardest part is getting the old rusted out nuts off. Half of them broke when I was trying to loosen them. Let them soak in PB Blaster overnight it might make it easier. I never have but it may help.
I don't know about shortening the hangers it may work but may also make it hit somewhere which will cause it to rattle. On the other hand it may work just fine.

Re: (hometheaterman)
shortening the hangers is not possible unless you can weld, or wanna shell out more money
as said before, the hardest part will be disconnecting the mid pipe from the cat. the bolts that connext it are pressed into the cat, and they WILL be fused. Me and two buddies installed my RS*R at like midnight last spring, and it took us 2 hours to get the nuts off the cat -in the process we stripped one of the bolts on the cat..oh well. just have ALOT of wd-40 or something similar (we used both WD and PB blaster). you're gonna need a breaker bar to get them off regardless -i always just use the handle for my jack -its never failed me yet

Re: Apexi WS2 sound & Pspec short shifter (tomegun123)
OK, I'm thinking about this and these are my concerns:
1. I already have a custom exhaust but I'm sure the Apexi will be nicer.
2. I worry about how far it will hang below what I have right now; my car is lowered about an inch.
3. The sound, from the file, doesn't sound much different (quieter) than what I have right now.
My question now is, do you guys think hanging lower will be an issue for me?
Also, do you think this 'upgrade' is worth it?

Here is a sound clip of mine on a 2001 Accord 4 cyl. 4 dr. with an Injen CAI.

And here is a picture of the WS2 on my car. Stock suspension
Also this was a very simple installation. By far the easiest thing that I have added to my car.

And in regard to "do you think this upgrade is worth it". I definitely am happy with it. If I could do it again, I definitely would get the same exhaust. I love the deep low sound of this exhaust. A small amount of gains through out my power band.

Re: Apexi WS2 sound & Pspec short shifter (concept11253)
I have the WS1 on my 1998 accord, and the sound is great, but i hate the piping, it's rusting, and the thing hangs way too low. If I could do it agan i'd get a custom 2.25" bend with an 18" resonator and an oval straight through without the huge tip. The thing is pretty big looking and its annoying to get up and down steeper driveways.
