^^ if you want the CTR climate control to work properly, you just have to swap circuit boards with a USDM one. With cutting the vents...just try to put it in, and you'll see where you need to cut. You also have to cut some brackets too.

Ask Jeremy and Brandon @ RZP to show you how they are going to mine. Its a 96 Coupe with the stock Climate Control and they are swapping it over to the 99-00 Climate Control.

u dont need to change the circuit board...wtf is he talking about hahahahah...u just have to cut a little bit off of the actual dash frame, which is on the lower right bottom portion of where the usdm climate control is....then once you get a little section taken out, hack the center vent about2-3in from where its at now...then keep trimming until the controls fit flush. of course, cut small at first so its snug... pm me ifyou need any help i did mine a while ago so i got you homie!

okay.. the harnesses from the USDM do not plug into the JDM unit. You have to switch the circuit boards of the JDM unit to USDM circuit board to accept USDM harness.

The stufff that you're explaining is simply putting the climate control into the dash. I hope you dont think it's plug and play like the 96-98 CTR climate control. I've installed both and currently using the 98' CTR. So unless you've installed this unit before.. do not laugh.. cuz the laugh is on you if what you've explained up there is all you need to do to make it work

And NO my vent is not hacked up at all to accept the JDM unit.

What year is your car? what is this circuit board talk i'm hearing?

on my 99 civic HB and 00 civic Si..the 99-00 JDM CTR climate control was a plug and play. even the EK4 navigation heating was plug and play.

basically, 99-00 JDM CTR to 99-00 USDM civic, wiring is plug and play, but you have to hack the venting ducts and bottom of the dashboard frame for it to work.
unless you have a 96-98 USDM civic, then use chameleon's post to change to 99-00 wiring

i had it in my car...u dont have to cut the frame or anything..just cut the vent enought where the ctr climate will fit...the bottom of the frame i had to hammer it a little to fit since the ctr climate had the ***** on the right hand side and the us is on the left...look at the left side how it sits you have to do it the same on the other side..hope you get it...

not to get off subject too bad, but what about the ek4 climate control into a 99-00 civic, as far as wiring the plugs are completley different?
