Default Post your PCV all motor setups

Im getting some blow by, and im interested to see :

How much WHP you make?
What your Catch can/PCV system consists of?
Did you have blow by problems/oil consumption go away after you hooked up your catch can/pcv?

ive seen some guys drill the front of the valve cover (tbone/sheepey) and run catch cans. i think mine is going to have a check valve in the exhaust, what do you do with your stock "black box pcv". run it to your manifold, or fo you guys include it in the catch can setup?

thanks
Mike

I run a line from the pcv on the black box (on the back of the block) to a greddy catch can and then a line from the catch can to the back of an AEBS manifold. This is on a 84mm GSR

I was having problems with a leakin oil pan gasket. (misplaced the new one during the build only to find it under the drivers seat 2 months later.)

But for the first month or so i was leaking oil thru the pan while driving. mostly due to the shitty gasket.

but once i installed a DUAL BUNG can through the freeze plugs.

(endyn style) the leaking went away.

The motor was a 12:1 compression just FYI.

Sorry 4got to mention that I didn't have a serious oil consumption blow by problem, just posted that because it shows evidence that it may work for you.

I just made a setup (TURBO DAVE STYLE )

We drilled the front of the valve cover (tbone/sheepey) style, ran it to a catch can. then we are installing a 1 way check vavle into the exhaust AFTER the header to recirculate the blow by to the motor.

ill have pics up shortly

Recirculate the blow-by?? hmm im getting lost here. I am imaging your setup and it seems like your sending the **** out the tail pipe. Just a 1 bung catch can? then the bottom runs out to the exhaust.

If I'm not mistaken:

For NA motors just run the PCV line to the catch can and then another line from the catch can to the IM where the PCV line use to go. Just throw some steel wool, or anything like it, and then hit the track and have fun. No need for slash cuts in the exhaust if you are just using it for vacuum when you can use the IM. There reallly isn't even a need to drill holes in your valve cover.

Turbo set-up are different than NA set-ups.

sounds liek a idea i was working on a ways back but never finished it.. plan on seeing it thru this project..

the exhaust acts as a vacuum effect by pulling the built up pressure inside the motor so that it doesnt have to fight it... thus makeing more power...

running a Jaz can on mine .
From the PCV valve to the catch can
From the nipple on the valve cover to the catch can.
The plug on the IM where the pcv line would normally go is capped off.
I empty the can every week or so.
Oil consumption has decreased a tad bit.
191 WHP.

~220 Dynojet WHP.
Was running the stock PCV system. Now running a catch can. The hole on the back of the block is plugged with the Z10 plug. Two lines on the back of the block run to the catch can just like the Endyn kit. The hose on the back of the block that used to go to the black box is teed into one of these lines. I drain the catch can about once a month, whether it needs it or not.

I have mine teed into the lines setup exactly how b19 is running.

At what point(HP wise) would you all say the stock PCV system becomes useless??
