Why not to put remote start on MT's (lots of pics)
i posted this on Dallasimports.net and a buddy of mine reikoshea posted this on honda-swap for me.
anway...yea.......I have remote start on my car. and never have I left it in gear. well while i was sleepig early the other day my dad decides to move my car.
He leaves it in first gear. With NO F*&KING E BRAKE. So of course im in a hurry, start the car from my room, and just.....thank God my dog wasnt in the way.
ive looked up JDM fronts but the cheapest thing i found was 1500 bucks and it wasnt even in stock. anyone have any ideas on how to get the parts for cheap or what i should do. i also though about primering the entire car again since the rest of the body needs has minor problems. scratches, dents, and things i forgot to shave the first time around.

thsnks guys ill check out that site, ive only looked at Password JDM.
there is no lesson to be learned. it was an accident. evreyone knew very well what the car was capable of doing with the mod. everyone was in a rush and we had an accident. there are bypasses you can get to disable remote start if the ebrake is not on.
i dont need a remote start in dallas. my dad always says that, why do u need this and that. thats not the point. its more convenient, its cool and ive always wanted it. thats the only reason.

wow that totally sucks ***..........hope it doesn't cost you much to repair
...but i don't know what kind of remote starter you have but it obviously was not hooked up correct OR someone put a automatic trans remote starter into your manual trans car.
my remote start will not start without setting the system into "ready" mode which requires a few steps before you get out of the car or it will not start no matter how many times you try to press the button.......

pshhh, that will buff right out
-and why do old/middle aged people always leave cars in gear? i know youre supposed to when your parked on a hill, but most "older" people i can think of ALWAYS leave their car in gear when they park

thanks guys, my dad doesnt want to take blame. and ill admit its partly my fault for not getting up and moving it myself, and ultimately i pushed the button that sent the car rolling into the garage. but i think my mom is going to help me fix it.
but like i said im not sure if i can find a JDM front, or if im just going to fix the usdm front and get another lip.

I was thinking about getting a remote start on whatever car I end up getting, but after seeing this, I really think I can just walk out to my car and start it 10 minutes before work. Good luck man

careful about that atleast lock the doors when u leave it running i have heard stories of guys letting there cars warm up and them getting jacked. i just go to my car start it and set the turbo timer to run for like 5 or so minutes and lock my door and 30 seconds after that my alarm re-sets itself i cant run my manual bypasses (fuel and spark cutoffs) but it keeps some punk from just hopping in my car while its warming up.
