Bull crap Chad! My Silverado gets over 25mpg on the highway and about 20-21 in the city. I have had Honda's with worse mileage and so have you.

If it has a factory equipped tow package like my Silverado then it already has one
the only thing that a tow package equipped Silverado is missing is a trailer brake and I think you can even purchase that as an upgrade from the factory. BTW the 323ci engine is AWESOME when it comes to performance and economy. I think it is the best engine platform that GM has used in years.

Ditto. No way someone's getting 25mpg in a Silverado. No way.

Re: My new tow vehicle (tnord)
Not that it's a direct comparison, but my wife's V8 4Runner (tow vehicle for tha race kaa) gets around 20-21mpg commuting to and from work and around 24-25 cruising at 70mph. This is a modern engine with VVTI and a 5 speed tranny.
Christian, who only gets an average of 25 mpg in his Cooper S

Re: My new tow vehicle (DMF)
lets see, my last tank (21 gallons of premium) took me a little over 415 miles so lets do the math........425/21=20.xxx oh my gosh, what was that OVER 20mpg!!! That was work commuting and one 70 mile trip. hmmmmm the 323 5.3l V8 made by General Motors is a very economical engine unless you have a lead foot.

Sounds like something Karl would say
We have been driving the Honda all over the South East for the past 3 to 4 years and the past 2 with no A/C. Its too damn hot for all that.
Hopefully my next event will be the solo2 divisional in Alabama, well besides the event at Roebling this month.
