ATTN: Omnipower coilover shock problems! *READ IF YOU HAVE THEM*
Apparently there have been a few failures of the front shock collars due to the thickness(or lack thereof) in a critical spot. See here for more details:
https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
I just spoke with Robear Racing, and have been told that omni is swapping them out for ones with thicker(10mm) walls. Call Omnipower with your receipt from the vendor, and they'll either bill you for a set of the replacements and then refund the money when you send your current ones back, or you can send them in and they'll send new ones, depending on how you want to do it and if you can change them out for a bit.
Just thought I'd give a heads up for anyone else who might be using them.
More details once I speak with Omnipower myself.

ive had their shocks for over a year and a half, and love them, i got them from omniman personally when he just started out...
just wanted to point out to everyone, since they can't seem to notice, like the jic pic in one of the posts, that when you're in a world of morons with few honest intelligent people out there, anyone can f** up anything
why else would a company like Mitsubishi revoke someones warranty on an automobile that was built, designed, and tested for a particular purpose, when they find out you were driving it in competition as it was conceived!!!!

Mitsubishi had the whole Fuso hubs exploding and people dying fiasco last year too, but that can be pinned to a similar cause

Im glad I didn't buy these when I was building my car... I was debating it. Went ahead and shelled out the couple hundred bucks for the yellow stuff. I do feel sorry for the guy though... that was a beuatiful car.

Re: (95Sol)
as I also posted in the suspension thread:
Just spoke with Bob @ omni power.. I had to send them a bit of info and they are getting the collars out to me. They are providing me new collars and I have to return the other ones within 2 weeks or they will charge me the $60 for the others. They are also paying for free ground shipping, but I asked to pay the difference to upgrade to 2nd day air, in order to hopefully not ruin my plan to race this weekend and they are doing so.

Just as an FYI, Steve called from Taiwan yesterday and talked about his recall/exchange programme and how he was going to do it. He seems to have the implementation worked out well in his head and I hope it goes well when he gets back.
He's thinking about putting a banner up advertising how to get the problem solved if you were shipped the thin collars.
I left the conversation with a sense that he was being honest about his decision, and he appeared to be determined to take his share of the responsibility and see the problem through to its conclusion.

LOL yea thats my car in the pic and yes im done with omni now... Can't say that i didnt fall into the "Stave Omni Man" thing cause I did, I thought because he was behind the name that the product would be top notch, while it seemed so good, it fell horribly short. The worst part is I am not in even close to the same category as everyone else, especially the drag races teams that experienced problems. At most I'm out a $150, but if this had gotten worse I could be out of way more than that! Hopefully i'll get this rectified and maybe this and the other threads will stop some bad things that could happen to others who purchased these products. Altho i will say this, I don't think this is a 100% design flaw as much as i think its a manufacturing flaw. Whether it be the coil overs, camber arms or what ever, you can design and engineer the greatest product in the world but if the person who makes it doesn't do their job, then all u have is a piece of junk.
