Take out the back seats and there is a metal cover. Remove this and you have easy access to the fuel pump, no need to drop the tank.

you also shouldnt have to remove the back seat, just everything in the trunk. if u feel like driving down to sac i'll do it for you for 20 bucks and a burrito..

Are you sure the fuel pump is the problem or are you
putting in a warlbro or something.
The stock fuel pump hardly ever goes out.

stock fuel pump rarely goes out? i have a 92 lude, and the car was sitting for almost a year, 16 years old, and i cant hear it turning on, u think this could be the relay or the pump, i put a guage on and now im getting no psi, i bought a walbro which i would have to soon enough anyway, but how possible is it that the relay is blown?, battery was disconnected when i mounted gauge on the filter, and everything is good with no leaks, pretty sure its the pump.

Im willing to bet its the main relay thats bad. You can pull them out and resolder the connections and revive them a lot of times. Thats what i did with mine.

to check if its your relay turn you key to the on position. the check engine light should come on for a sec then shut off. if it doesn't turn off It is almost definate that it is your main relay. If it stays on hit or kick the dash by your left foot. the light will flicker or go off. when it goes off try to start the car. it probably will start.

Re: 92 lude fuel pump location (kulrevon)
thanks guys, i actually just put my walbro in today and everything is good now, i guess the 16 year old pump with 150000 miles had had enough. i was suprised how much smaller the 255 walbro is compared to stock fuel pump. it was kind of a pain to put in but only took about 1 hr.

when u pull the whole assembly out of the top of the tank it is a lil tricky, if u take both rear seats out and some other things u can take out that cross brace that kind of gets in the way, i was able to fit it around somehow, but it was lil hard to fit it back in, loosen all the 10s on the top, when doing a walbro, u have to hardwire the pump, use all the new hardware and mount it on the bracket, pretty simple, some people zip tie the pump to stay in place but mine was solid as **** just with the hose on the top. it wasnt that bad if u have some mechanical experience, i only have intake, exhaust, header, wires, and fpr and the 255 high pressure pump put my fuel pressure right around 39, car fired right up and runs good.
