[REVIEW] OBX Twin Loop Muffler , Mugen Twin Loop Replica
Well I bought the OBX Twin Loop Muffler with the intentions of quieting down my exhaust. I havent seen a full review here of the muffler so I decided to do one for those that want a twin loop muffler but dont have the money to buy the real thing made by mugen.
I purchased the muffler on ebay for $95 USD Shipped to my door.
My exhaust setup:
Street Imports JDM ITR 4-1 Header Replica (2.5" Collector)
Carsoung High Flow Cat (2.5")
Full 2.5" Mandrel Bent Catback Exhaust
13" Long 2.5" Resonator
POS Muffler which is gonna be raplaced by the OBX Piece
Tomorrow I'm gonna be making a sound clip of my current muffler before I get the OBX Twin loop installed and then I'm gonna make a soundclip of the OBX Muffler to show the sound difference.
I saw some posts that said the piping diameter of the loop wasnt 2.5" all the way. I think I have the second version of the muffler which is 2.5" all the way. I dont have one of those things to measure piping correctly but I measured my exhaust piping all the way around with a measuring tape, and then measured the inlet of the obx muffler and several different places of the loop and the whole thing measured the same as my exhaust piping which I know for a fact that is 2.5".
Here are some pics of the product, welds are really nice, and I must say I'm impressed by the quality of the muffler so far, will see how it sounds tomorrow.
Updates with sound clips coming tomorrow.

Anyone know if/how this would fit on a Sol? Right now I have a magnaflow muff which is alright, but above 3,500 rpms it's a little loud. It also sticks out from under the car a little more than I like. That OBX one looks like it might tuck up a little more...

Should tuck in more than a regular muffler since the tip is really close to the bottom of the canister, on regular mufflers the tip is in the middle which make the whole can hang lower.

Re: (Reiketsukan)
Well my review isnt gonna turn out like I wanted to. I woke up in a hurry and had to get the muffler put on before going to school so I got no sound clip of the before (raspy ricer ****).
But I'm glad to say that this thing quieted my car down to stock exhaust levels even with my 2.5" setup. I couldnt believe it when I got in the car, and it doesnt even get loud in vtec (all you hear is the motor). I'll be posting a soundclip of the OBX muffer, just have no before to compare it to.

it's muffled twice i really don't think that being too loud is an issue here. i have the old version of this and it sounds beautiful, no probs from the cops, either.

Sound clips are coming guys. My laptop is acting gay (battery wont charge) and it's the only thing I have to record the sound and then get it uploaded to the net.
They're coming though.

Re: (turbotime)
i wouldnt use this muffler with a turbo, lots of restriction.
this muffler is meant to keep things quiet and tone it down a bit meaning more restriction.
turbo + high restriction= no good

Well, that's pretty much common sense.
But I took my car to the track and backed up the times I had done the previous friday with the straight through muffler, and got a bit higher MPH. So I guess it didnt hurt my setup.
