Is a comptech Ice Box system legal in IT?
I currently have a icebox setup and I am not sure if I need to sell it or not as I have been told by some that it is illegal. Can anyone for once and for all tel me if its legal or not? Any protests that can back it up? Thanks in advance!

Depends on there the stock intake pickup was for your year of Integra. If stock is in the engine compartment (not the fenderwell) than it's NG for you. For our 99 it's perfectly legal.
BTW, the SCCA GCR is now downloadable (Thanks to NASA!! ) so download your own copy and read it yourself.

Oh I have read it myself and it gets very grey and out of 10 people 6 say its legal because "everyone else uses them illegaly" and the other 4 say its illegal.
The 95 GSR technically took the air from behind the ABD pump, which is in the engine bay. The ITR tooks it from the fender well. So in that regard the icebox is illegal.
However, there is also a statement, that RAM air is not allowed, which the ice box is not, and that the hoses are open from the mass air flow sensors, since honda's sensors are on the TB, some interpret this to mean honda's can do what ever they want...
So what is it - Legal or Illegal?

That's a pretty huge contradiction and a weird-*** way to define "legal." If it draws air from outside the engine compartment, it's not legal - assuming you are talking about a GS-R and the details you've provided are accurate.

Its not complicated.
Ignore opinions and just do what the rule says. In this case, the rule is pretty clear.

Re: Is a comptech Ice Box system legal in IT? (Catch 22)
Actually, I guess it's not ok on our 99 LS either. I forgot about that little tube between the airbox and the hole in the wheelhouse which faces into the engine bay. I was thinking of the airbox setup when we used to run it as an ITR in NASA but now that we are going back to LS (ITA) I guess we'll have to switch the intake.
edit: btw within that same rule you mention about metering location 17.1.4.D.1.c still says in the middle of it "Air intake source shall be within the confines of the engine compartment or stock location".h
