Default FAQ: EF CRX/Hatch B series turbo shopping list (BlueShadow's turbo project)

Hi guys,

I just thought I'd post up my detailed list of what I have bought so far for my turbo setup. It is well over 90% complete, and all the major parts are here. I'm still waiting on my Kteller piping to arrive, but if I really wanted to I could start the turbo install tomorrow (but I'm not gonna). This is just a general guide to show people what kinds of costs go with doing a turbo project. Every little thing that I bought which was even remotely related to this turbo project was put in a spreadsheet which I made just for this.

UPDATED 17 Oct 05 cause I swapped out a few parts here and there.

Things I already had:
Autometer Boost gauge
Autometer Oil Pressure gauge

HP Pavilion laptop which I bought a long time ago to run AEM EMS on my turbo Lude

I'll probably get an Ostrich emulator for $175 so that I dont have to keep removing my chip to burn it. And after installing the turbo kit I might get an MSD Digital 6 ($290) and HVC coil ($113) setup and some plug wires. I wanna try running stock ignition for a while though. The install will be done by me so no install costs, and the welding for the oil pan bung and DP/DT piping might be done by a friend for $100 or so or maybe by a local muffler shop.

Anyways that's my list...it's about $800 more then I was expecting, but it's all good because a lot of that cost was misc. stuff like tools and wiring and stuff. Hopefully this will help out those of you guys that plan on turboing your EF.

EDIT: I went ahead and bought an Ostrich romulator today for 190 shipped 3 day select. So I added another $190 to the list.

$840 new SC6152S 0.70ar cold/0.63ar hot (replacing my T3/T04E)

Thanks man. I want to go turbo-fed when the car is garaged again. Looks like I'll have to start saving up in the summer time unless I get a bad *** animation job to pay for this project

hehehe, glad you guys like the list...I just hope your guys costs wont come anywhere near mine. Pretty much everything was bought new. I didn't feel like piecing together a custom kit, because of a bad experience with doing that in the past.

The only thing missing is the costs for building the motor. But when I do start buying parts for my built block I will be making a detailed list of that too. But that wont be for another 6-12 months.

check out this thread on pg 2

https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=2

The WG is my old TIAL 38mm and the Revhard elbow though. It didn't have a lot of room for a dumptube. So I went with a Turbosmart ultragate which has a lower profile and I stood it upright and I was able to weld up my dumptube. If you give me a few days I can post up a pic of my new dumptube setup.
