Default TURBO CALCULATOR RIPPED ME OFF!

For any and all that have purchased what they call a Garrett Spec turbo . . . which is those XY Turbos made by stone racing. Please chime in on your experience with them. I baught what was suppose to be a Garrett Turbo as it clearly stated that in the description, and what I received was a Garrett Spec turbo which was that ghetto *** ebay ****.

The turbo is not even 30 miles old, the fins are scraping on the compressor housing, and when we took the housing off, ohh man, the shaft is warped so the turbo is junk. It has a 6 month warranty.

turbo was purchased from TURBO CALCULATOR! Stay away from them! They told me to send it back . . . when I asked if I needed a authorization number, asked for the address to send it back to, and asked who was paying for shipping since I felt that I shouldn't have to with the turbo being that fucked up so fast they stopped responding to my e-mails, they never did return my phone calls. I left numerous messages since everytime I call nobody answers.

Any ideas as to what I can do? After running into an old buddy I found out he has the same turbo, after 90 miles his seals blew, so he got another turbo under warranty and that one was also un-balanced and had the fins scraping, so this is a mass produced defect not just one turbo.

Can anyone payTURBO CALCULATOR a visit for me? They are down in NC since I can't get through to them. I ran out of ideas on how to contact them and get my $$ back $460 down the *******, I want them to rott in hell for selling BUNK turbos to people.

someone . . . anyone help!

I did notice that on ebay theyre calling them "spec" and on their website theyre saying the turbos are actual garrett...Kinda wondered about that one.

I also found it interesting that they cut the digits off some of the compressor maps that they have.

Wish I could help you out man...that place has always looked shady to me.

THe thing is my good friend reffered me to them nd said he had no problem and got his Garrett Turbo so that's why I went ahed and ordered it. They now changed the wording on their website after I complained to keep their *** out of trouble. Any info would be great, I just can't afford to eat $460. My friend wants to fly up there and throw the turbo through their window and collect a new one for me. He's totally against business's like that, if I could afford to fly up there I would but I can't which is why I am asking for help.

I was told by a good friend of mine that Garrett flew about 10-12 lawyers to sema and is tagging all companies claiming to sell Garrett Spec products with lawsuites so i'm thinking of trying to call Garrett and let them know my situation on how I was suppose to get a Garrett and got a Garrett spec and that the company is ruining Garrett's name to see if they take action at all.

I've dealt with Cheapturbo.Com many times already and every single time I've been more then satisfied with their products and customer service.

I don't have any experience with the company your talking about but I would definitly get ahold of them and get my money back. Call Cheapturbo.Com

Edgar I never baught the turbo off ebay . . . . its the same that they sell on ebay but this was baught off a website. I wanted to get a Garrett turbo from cheapturbo.com and I plan on it after these people give me my money back. Kinda hard when they arn't returning phone calls and messages or e-mails. I got my credit card company trying to help me out but that's not a guarantee.

hope it works out well. I remember reading on honda-tech that those turbos are actually good, but they aren't balance. The balancing machine is like 20K or something like that so thats why they can sell em soo cheap, they dont balance it. But once i herd you balance it, the turbo is cherry.

yup mine has a turbonetics exhaust housing. Those turbos are not balanced properly. After a little while of my friend running his he said he didn't care he just hit the highway and floored it on his built SOHC and it eventually borred out the side that was rubbing and he has no issues with it now, but he now has a spare Garrett turbo, he's trying to blow the Garrett spec up :-p

I hope it works out, and most likely in the end it will, but I just wanted to let others know to think twice about turbocalculator. I know people make mistakes, but when they arn't willing to correct them then we got a problem.
