Default crx sir front end, with jdm sedan 1pc lights.

Sorry to add another post about this, since there was one last week.

I have been searching for over a week now on more info about this.

I called all the importers I know of asking about it, the guy at hmotorsonline really understood what I am trying to do. He said its not possible without using the whole sedan frontend. The guy at passwordjdm said the same thing. But I am not so easily discouraged.

My two problems with the sedan front are:

1) That terrible metal strip above the bumper. Its the same thing the usdm hatches have. Its pointless and looks bad. (sorry no offense intended, just an opinion)

2) Its not a bolt up affair with my crx anyway, so thats fabrication time and money right there, for something im not that crazy about. I just want those lights.

So at last my question:

If I use the correct crx jdm front end for the car (fenders, hood, bumper etc), and then remove the corners and headlights, how much different are these sedan lights? Making a mount or cutting the rad support or brackets or anything not visible with the hood down doesnt matter, I can do any of that. I just mean actual bodywork.

I am looking for a writeup, any info on this. Years ago I saw a picture of a black crx with the one piece lights, it also had an off centered emblem on the front of the hood. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking about, or Im just a lunatic? Well anyway, since then its always somehting I wanted to try. Unfortuantley I am not made of money, I can spare about a grand for this project which is why if i have to cut the jdm hood, and the height of the two headlights is way off, its going to be too expensive for me.

Again, I have been searching a lot of forums and google for more info on this, if I missed something please let me know.

the four door is alot more squared off than the CRX front. The fenders as well. The fitment will be all off.

I see what you're saying. It looks like the fender side of the headlight definatley isn't going to happen, the shape is way off.

I just wonder if the width and height are close enough to make a fabrication possible...

might have to give up on this one, as it could be a very expensive waste of time

I've been cutting and welding on my 90 Si hatch for over a year. It will be worth it.

finished product pics will be up in a month or two. depending on how long it takes to put the thing back together after paint this week.

question, why do you prefer the sedan 1 peice over the crx jdm headlight? They practically look the same!

because they don't look the same and one piece is cooler than two.

that seam is disgusting. it kills the whole front end for me. i also want to put the one piece in an oven, split them and paint the inside of the assembly a high gloss black to match the rest of the car. not the part the light shines through, obviously.

i have a link of a guy who did it somewhere, i thought it looked pretty neat.

so anyway, thats why i like them. its dumb, yes, but i just do.

The 4dr headlight is way off. Go to a parts department and ask to see both.

The "real" JDM crx clear corners look nice as hell anyways. I'd go with those

cause they are the same shape as the JDM ones rite?

1: why you posted in the first place boggles my mind. we already came to a conclusion on fitment.

2: read the original post thoroughly before you start with your brilliant ideas.

3: don't call me names.
