Uh...no, that isn't your cost. I have the pick tags still that show retail & dealer cost from when they were purchased.

Both of the items listed are below dealer cost. That is right, dealer cost, not retail. Remember these are 'New In Box' parts still in factory boxes.

Yeah, I have thought about it. I would still need to get a tranny, ecu & run a wire in the harness.....

Please do.

Perhaps there is some confusion about the 'shortblock'. This includes the crank, rods, pistons, etc.

Just so there is no further confusion, the following is the latest info from Honda Interactive Network.

B17 Engine Assembly (10002-P61-A10) Retail $2763.68 Dlr cost is 1796.39
only 1 left in the United States. Resides at AHM warehouse Chino, CA.

B17 Cylinder Head Assembly (10003-P61-A10) Retail $1842.43 Dlr cost is 1197.58
only 2 left in the United States. Both reside in the AHM warehouse Chino, CA.

I also did national dealer locator just to see if any dealers had one lying around...no luck. Very good price on these items considering they are NIB.

As a side note...the transmissions are no longer available and at one time they actually sold a longblock verison of the B17A1 - PN: 10001-P61-A10 Retail 3868.32. Honda called it "ENGINE, BARE". Pretty crazy huh.

Yeah those are good prices. I can vouch for Mike he is a great guy to do business with. If anyone is thinking about doing the deal go for it you don't have to worry about the seller. He's been in sport compact car for gods sake

I'll be there Friday, as well. Just picked up the car from the fab shop earlier today. Still have to put Humpty together again. But there's a lot less to assemble than there used to be The cage really turned out nice. If i ever learn how to post photos, I'll start a gloat thread. Got plenty of other stuff to do for now, though.

Are you guys running the enduro Sunday night?

Well, I won't be able to check it out for a couple of days. Sorry.

I talked to the owner though. The head was purchased in early 2002. I am not sure you are asking about the casting date. All the ITR heads are the same AFIK.

If you look at the front of the cylinder head next to the exhaust ports should be a few small circles engraved with a set of numbers. Those are the dates that head was manufactured.

Really tempted to get this but I'm in the middle of buying a house so things are hectic as far as funds go...
