That's a good list, but why would you say don't remove the bumper supports? Safety or structural rigidity??
Oh, and taking out ABS is a major PITA

^^ Safety mostly. I should probably say that about Airbags and ABS too. Those things should probably be left in..

well then try a steering wheel on for size, i think i would rather hit an air bubble than take a steering wheel to the forehead...but thats just me.....
i dont think a list of stuff that you can take off is really necessary....i mean its good reference for those who cant think....but i think what a lot of us are looking for are weight-saving mods that dont have any blatently apparent downsides.....like TERRIBLE noises or no seats or no dash or airbags....but with this mentality of course we can only do so much, and that much has been covered before....hmmm.....if you read this slowly and think about it, im really getting nowhere....hmmm....im rambling again....

Ever seen a crash test in slow motion? You can eat the steering wheel even with your seat belt on.

fast says lighter is faster!!!
or something like that... cant remember the vw ad, but it's funny as hell
Thats a lot of weight reduction. Someone should remove ALL THAT STUFF and then weigh it, i'd be curious.

would removing the brake disc dust shield have any draw-backs? i don't think i would remove mine, i'm just curious about there purpose other than to keep the inside of your wheel and engine bay a little cleaner.

I have removed:
Airbags and SRS Computer
Air Conditioning Components (interior and exterior)
Back Seats
Backseat Support
Balancer Shafts and Belt
Brake Dust Shields
Carpet
Cat
Center Console
Cruise Control
CD Player / Radio
Dashboard
Dead Pedal
Door Glass
Door Panels
Door Sills
EGR valve
EGR controller
EVAP canister and solenoids
Exhaust Heatshield
Firewall Mat
Floormats
Front Grill
Headliner
Heater Hoses
Hood Lock Mechanism
Horns
Interior Plastic Panels
Interior Sound Deadening
Oil cooler
Parking Brake and Hardware
Passenger Seat
Passenger and driver Seatbelt
Power Steering System
Radiator Fans
Rear Seatbelts
Sunroof
Spare Tire
Spare Tire Jack and Tools
Speakers
Steering Column Cover
Steering Lock
Trunk Latch / Gas Release latch
Trunk Liner
Turn Signals (front)
Vibration damper connected to the front bumper
Windshield Washer Lines and Sprayers
Windshield Washer Reservoir
I have installed:
Fluidyne radiator (probably no weight savings since it has a larger capacity than stock)
optima battery
lightweight flywheel
stainless exhaust with Coast Fab muffler
stainless header
AEM CAI
AEM altenator pulley
Euro R crank pulley
CF sunroof panel
QR steering wheel
Ultrashield seat with aluminum side mounts and an IO Port back brace
Ultrashield 6 point harness
Mocal 19 row oil cooler with -10 SS lines
I still have the stock hood, trunk lid, and spoiler installed as well. The Optima battery is just a tad smaller than stock, but still weighs quite a bit.
It also has a full cage.
Without me in it and a full tank of gas, it weighs around 2550.

Oops, I have the full dashboard in the car, sans ductwork. I should have caught that.
No balance shafts, though. The optima battery is stock sized.
At this rate, though, I'll be happy to bump up into H1, I can build a stronger engine. There's just as much competition in H1 as there is in H2 right now (i.e. none).
Here are some pictures with the interior gutted and a cage: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1542210

It needs to be same weight as stock also, per the HC rules.
If you didn't know, I was kidding about protest, I don't plan to protest anyone ever over stupid little things. I bet if we went over every ones car in HC "with a fine toothed comb" they would all be illegal for 1 stupid reason or another.

Oh I know, but you'd probably be faster than me, so no reason to protest.
Actually I would like to do H1 because I'd like to build a 240 WHP engine. Mine is at 204, but I know there's a bit more power to be made with headwork, cams, pistons, etc. I actually like to build them more than I do drive them, but I do love to drive the Prelude!

Re: (Cottonwoodz)
SRS IS airbags....
(hello? supplimental restraint....)
good list tho. (for the most part... 3rd brake light removal? the weight is totally negligible and you'll have the "brake lamp" warning all the time...quite annoying, not to mention illegal and unsafe. are you trying to keep the car legal and safe? if not...why leave the bumper supports? if its a track only car, go all out.... also, removing the header heat shield is stupid and pointless...that thing weighs almost nothing anyway...)
I've got a 3rd gen, so I dont have to worry about a few of the things on that list :D
