DOHC head on SOHC block...???
Buddy of mine has a 2000 civic ex (di6y8), and he wanst to know specifics about putting a b16 head on the block?
will it bolt up? will certain oil passages have to be redrilled? is the bore the same, or is it the stroke that makes the 1.6 a 1.6 in a b16? i dunno? He wants some power, and poor guy doesnt know jack about motors......So?

you can put a ls head on it. The older D series blocks can be modified to fit a DOHC ls head. No VTEC head will fit.. but the LS will with some modification. Its not worth the trouble though.. simular to a ZC

That is unless you got some deep *** pockets and like to pay out the *** for custom machine work. Even then, I still don't think any machine shop would touch it.
If we go by your statement, then the VTEC head would fit, because we all know that LS/VTEC's are done all the time. And if a LS head would fit, then the VTEC head would fit too.
Whoever told you it would work, doesn't know their Honda motors very well.
