more info...all i know is that when ever i hit 2.5-3.5k(any were threw there, it only does it once) my tach with stop for like 1/2 a sec and my car "jurks" really quick and then its fine (after i give it gas and it gets out of the 2.5-3.5k range on the tach. i have no problem.)
i have tryed fuel injector cleaner. ive also asked my local honda dealer and asked if the fuel filter would do that. they said that they have never heard of it and they have to keep it over night to find out whats wrong.

Check if your cam specs and pulley is set to TDC.. Also some people say that it could be the fuel pump getting enough power to it. Also, Knock Sensor?

Re: 3k Hesitation? (justanotherlude)
At 3000RPM the ignition control module sends a signal to the Knock Sensor. This happens so that the control module can test the knock sensor. Your Knock Sensor might be needed a check up or the ignition control module. Check both to make sure proper voltage and wiring is intact.

Re: 3k Hesitation? (Revi-Ra)
I remember there being a recall on 5th gen ludes, that would cause the engine to stall during operation. It had something to do with the ignition in the steering column. Check with your dealer to see if this applies to your vehicle. If that is not the case, check your timing, also pull your plugs to see if you are running rich or anything of that nature. I had the same problem. leaned it up a little and it went away. Id check that ignition recall anyway.

WHY DONT YOU ALL READ WHAT I POSTED.
check your damn plugs. black is rich, white is lean. figure it out.
Dont complain how your car runs like **** then sit there and do nothing. pull the damn plugs. get a timing light, do something except complain.

you missed that part huh ?
I had a vac leak. I capped my vac leak. a day later my car has this problem. i pull the vac cap, car leans out a little bit, problem goes away.
If you pulled your plugs, what did they look like? black? brown? white? dont know ? purple ?

Re: 3k Hesitation? (Carbon_Lude98)
we all know the dreaded hesitation for most ppl is not the plugs, timing, or any of that. replace the knock sensor and see where ya get. or replace the knock sensor wire with new shielded wire...or wrap more shielded wire around the old one (make sure to ground it). i'm pretty sure it has to do with the knock sensor and heat/vibration.

Re: 3k Hesitation? (yOnKiNaToR)
why would a working knock sensor need to be replaced? A knock sensor on its way out or shorting or not reading the correct voltage will throw a CEL.
Its not exactly an easy thing to do considering it is buried under the intake manifold.
Do you have an instance where someone swapped a knock sensor for a brand new one and it solved the problem ?
If it does happen every time you get to 3K rpms no matter what, have you tried seeking professional advice? take it to shop or something? any kind of warranty left on the car, take it to the dealer.
I know what fixed my problem, i was pretty happy about it when it went away.
i would associate a weird hesitation more with spark/fuel related issues rather than a knock sensor. I had my knock sensor break and it caused no sort of hesitation, instead the car went into limp and pulled all the timing out of the maps and it was like driving a DX hatchback.

Re: 3k Hesitation? (Carbon_Lude98)
This subject has been covered over po.com. To change the knock sensor it is above the oil filter a few inches. Not to hard to reach. Get the right extensions and sockets, and you should be fine.
Any more info though? You throwing a CEL?
As quoted on po.com "the knock sensor has a lot to do with timing. It is there to prevent detonation or engine knock from using lower octane fuels. If it senses knock, then it will turn down your timing, thus giving you less power"...."if your knock sensor is going crazy, then it is probably sending the wrong signals to the ecu and your fuel management is off"...
Marucci says also "I'm pretty sure that if the knock sensor fails (hard), the ECU treats it as if it's active, meaning it eliminates all spark advance and goes into limp mode. This should make the car feel like a brick with NO power. It would certainly feel like it hesitates, probably across the board.
If it's a spurious failure, i.e. you really are "knocking" or the sensor is for some reason too sensitive, you'll feel the power loss at different spots in the RPM band (which sounds like what you have)."
