What happens when boost meets d15 (56k...take a break)
k...this happened a few weeks ago, but never got the time to put it up here as i was busy putting together my new block.
Stock d15b7 w/ 140k miles. 11psi with an ihi rhb5.
rod #1 and #4 broke to bits. couple of holes here and there on the block.
so ppl looking to boost the b7...pls keep it low!

Yup, looks about right. Those d15 rods are pretty small, even for a D. Any idea on the HP/tq level? At least the paper head gasket held.

Ahh yes.. I remember the days of boosting on my b7 block, actually is the was the hours of boost, 1 hour to be exact.. I ripped the wristpin out of piston #3 and made 2 holes in the block..
But the damage was done to the block a few months before that when I screwed something up with nitrous..

Re: (D15B7turbo)
im surprised your head gasket didnt blow before that happened...my motor blew a head gasket then a ring but never a rod...it was also a d15b7 running 12 psi on a t25 for a year or 15000 miles.

man...looks exactly the same... the best part was the hole at the back of the block, i didnt even know it was there, until i dropped the block and took out the alternator.

it was running on a good tune...no signs of detonatoion...
it wouldve lasted me for quite sometime if i hadnt messed around with the speed limiter crap. well, i took it off, and wanted to see how fast she can go...turns out she can only take a few runs of 135+mph

Re: What happens when boost meets d15 (D15B7turbo)
the boost side might look a lil lean...but it was tuned with a wideband and the afr was always around 12:1.
whn it blew up, i was probably close to 100mph, not sure about the rpm, i'd say not more than 4k-5k.
