Post whatever youd like in here. Just BS about the WSOP, games you play, hands you were in or anything poker related.

Ill start by first asking who everyone's favorite poker player is?

I would have to say mine is Daniel Negreanu. He has probably the greatest attitude of any professional poker player and is also a great player. It sucked though because they showed his plays in a VERY bad light at the 2004 WSOP.

I have a few other players I like but Ill let everyone else point out theres to keep some discussion going.

I've played way to much poker in the past week.

My favorite player would have to be Phil Ivey. But I do like Negreanu as well.

How about a pair at the table? I like to see Phile Helmuth and Sam grizzle at the same table.

I guess Ill kinda kickstart things.

Ivey is very good
Jesus is very good
Gus is a great player, I wish I could play like him without getting busted
Moneymaker is a decent player (certainly better then me I would think) but got EXTREMELY lucky last year and has shown in tourneys since then.
Helmuth is ones of the best but he whines to much

Other ones that come to mind are of course Doyle and another is Lederer.

I would love to see Hansen go up against Lederer or Jesus.

So who actually plays with real people?

It seems everytime I talk to people about Hold 'em, 90% of people play strictly online, and have played maybe 3 times at an actual table.

I used to play both about equally until last week I took first place in a tourney at a local casino out of 106 people for 1400 dollars and got carded. Since then strictly online. Single table tourneys are the easiest way to make money consistently online.

Every Friday at the local pool hall, after closing hours which is usually around 3 a.m. or so, the owner hosts a little poker tournament. Usually about 5-10 people that he trusts stay for it (he'd get in a shit load of trouble if caught gambling in PA). I try to go as often as I can, maybe once or twice a month.

We play Hold Em', I usually break even, I win a few hundred here and there.

ill jump in this thread. so how long has everyone been playing poker for? background expierence? limits? and games played?

ill start. ive been playin poker since i was young about 10 with my dad and his friends. thats what got me started. then when i turned 19 i started takin poker more seriously then just a game for fun. i started playin in atlantic city when i was 19 (you have to be 21, but i was never asked in the poker room and i had a fake id to back me up). started playin stud, great game still play for fun occasionly. then right after that about 3 years ago i started playing hold em'. this was before espn and wpt took off. me and my friends began playing nickle dime stuff. at the casino i started playin 2-4. i played that for awhile then move up to 3-6. after i felt good there i moved up to 4-8.

now that i have some good strategy i play 5-10, 6-12, 10-20 depending on what kind of bank roll i go with. i usually do pretty well. limit is a much more controlled game and and not as reckless as nl. ive played the nl games in AC 60 minimum 300 max buy in. some of the games are ruff, lots of loose new players and alot of really good pros, so i try and stick to where i know i have a good chance at making money. every once in awhile ill play a tournament, little buy ins like 60 bucks with add ons.

and my favorite pros

phil ivey-awesome player, if he has chips forget about it
helmuth- great player just whines too much
jennifer harmen- one of the best women players if not one of the best overall players in the world.
howard lederer (sp?) - great player and awesome with reads
Negreanu- awesome very unpredictalbe but top notch
gus hansen - not a big fan too wreckless but still a good player
harrington- tight but agressive and makes great calls
mehn the master- not onyl funny but a great player

many more ill name later

Been playing since I was 17 (Im 20 now). I played for fun until I lost just over 300 one night at 19 (A huge amount for me at that age). Since then I have been reading and taking it much more seriously. I play 3-6 or 6-12 Holdem or 4-8 6-12 Omaha Hi/Lo. I like Omaha much better but I also play VERY well at NL Holdem in Tournies.

I played yesterday in Blackhawk, CO- legal small stakes gambling. I always play on the 2/5 tables against a bunch of old men.

Highlights from yesterday included- 2 full houses in a row, a total of 6 throughout the day...caught a straight flush, only the 2nd one for me ever...also had a pocket pair of 8s, and the flop came: it was 8 8 10, and I flopped quad 8s. I should've made more yesterday, but finished nicely.
