For the past month, when I lift heavy and exert myself, I get a killer tension headache that lasts for about 30-60 minutes, so bad that I usually end up going home even though I'm dying to stay and finish the workout. For instance, I'll be fine, then I'll do a heavy set and the tension seems to come from the muscles in my neck and start the headache. It tends to come in repetitive waves and is always in the front half of the top of my head. I can usually feel a similar, very muted dull ache during the day if I pay attention, but it gets 100x worse by lifting. I can do cardio, like cycling and basketball, without any problem, but exerting myself hard while lifting really gets it started, in as little as a couple reps.
I've been working a lot lately (55-70hrs/wk, incl. weekends) in a stressful situation, so that could be the cause. Work calmed down last week and the headaches weren't nearly as bad, but after working 15hrs yesterday I got a bad one today just 2 sets into my workout and had to go home. I've been eating fairly well, a few days at work where I didn't eat enough, but the past couple weeks I've eaten well. Also getting a good amount of water and ~7hrs sleep. What should I do? I don't FEEL stressed out right now or any more tired than usual, but maybe my body feels differently? Anybody ever had this?

Something that has to do with your blood pressure.
Describe your symptoms to a doc.

My blood pressure is usually quite low.
If I still have these headaches for the next few days I'll see a doctor - I want to see if they continue to subside now that I'm working normal hours with less stress (Tuesday's 15-hr day was an exception I hope).

I have the same thing. I get mine usually while doing any ab exercise. I have to super concentrate on my breathing. then i don't get the head pounding. Mine can go to the point of passing out. that happened once.. I have been dizzy and/or had the spinns many times though. The one doctor attributed it to tensing my neck and not breathing correctly. I essentially cut off blood flow through my corroded artery...?
