Default Failed Trainers at the Gym

So, this morning I was working out, was doing shoulders and some squats. There were two different trainers, training middle aged men.

First one, the lady trainer was doing tricep extensions with DB. she did not have this guy bent over far enough, and he was not maintaining his elbow in a solitary position and was swinging his arm back and forth. she kept increasing his weight up to 35lbs. he could have started at 15 and stayed there. Function over fashion

Second one, this guy was training with a 20 or so old kid. They were doing squats. they started with 135, and went up to 225 eventually. The kid was moving MAYBE one foot down. i do not expect everyone to go all the way down, but he didn't look like he was doing anything really, and was totally pushing off his toes. I was cringing for them.

In this situation, do you just let it go, or say something? I know the lady was looking at me as I was dumbfounded as to why she was allowing him to butcher the form, and do everything improperly.

I see people doing stupid stuff all of the time, but as long as it doesnt look like a safety hazard, I usually leave them be.

in the case where there is a trainer, I would get the name of the trainer and report them to corporate/management if possible.

Word. I would report them to management, or at least someone who knows what they're doing. Interrupting him in the middle of his session would completely crush his credibility (which might not be a bad thing)...

I see them work out, and do shit right, but it is like half assing with clients. just irritating.

Case in point how personal trainers have become like paralegals or certified VCR technicians- anyone can get the 'degree' if they pay. There are way to many PT certifying organizations out there, and you can probably bet these trainers have theirs from a lesser respected one.

Anytime someone tells me they have a personal trainer I just laugh in their face.

PT's are an absolute joke these days. It's the ultimate cop out solution to getting results. It's essentially throwing money at a problem because of your lack of motivation.

Some people need a monetary incentive to find motivation

Well send me your money. I'll get your ass motivated to lose weight or build muscle.

lol. I don't need motivation. plus, I don't think money would motivate me if I lifted with you... the fact that you could eat me would serve as better motivation for me to get bigger so I could pretend to defend myself
