Default Time to kick more cancer @$$. Need your help again H-T

Hello HT/GDD,

It's that time of year again. Time for Jan's 2nd annual "Why am I doing this AGAIN" American Cancer Society fund raiser thing.

Last year went great and I had a blast doing everything from creating the thread here in H-T, setting up the donation page, recruiting a few partners in agony, running the actual race (my feet hated me afterward), and eventually going down to the local ACS office to drop off the check for all the paypal/cash donations made by people from all over and here on H-T.

I'm not going to type out my whole story again this year. Most of you know what this is all about. Those that don't please visit LAST YEAR'S CANCER ASS KICKING THREAD

Rest assured, this isn't a hoax. I'm not a scammer. Every cent that gets donated will go to the American Cancer Society.

The new and improved donation page this year can be reached HERE

Use this address for paypal donations:
team.acs.hawaii@gmail.com

I had so many people at the actual race last year ask me what my shirt was all about. Once I told them that each and every person on the back of my shirt was playing a role in getting me to the race and was counting on me to finish, they all though it was an awesome idea. A couple of people even gave me a few bucks they had stashed away to help out. Pretty awesome!

So just like last year, I'll be making another shirt this year to thank everybody that helps the cause. I'm going to try to go the silk screen route this year though since the iron on transfers actually ran a bit once they got soaked with rain/sweat.

Well, anyway, check last year's thread for all the info, send the link to the donation page to friends and family if you think they'd like to help out. Every penny counts.

Thanks again folks. Looking forward to another successful training program and race this year.

Jan

Here's me about 100 feet out from last year's finish line

UPDATES:

31 August
1st Donation received

24 September
$225 raised so far. Went over 1,250 H-T views. If each one of those views would only result in a $1 donation, that'd be awesome!!!!

On a side note, I picked up a new helmet for my 100 mile bike ride this weekend. I was toying with the idea of grabbing a pair of those biking shorts with the padding on the ass cheeks. I bet that after having logging 6-7 hours on that bike seat I'll be wishing I picked up those shorts. We'll see.
::UPDATE ON BIKE RIDE::
Made it in 9.5 hours after some seriously nasty cramping action. But I finished it, just like I'll finish the marathon.

5 October
25% mark was hit and I didn't even know it. Guess I need to check my own page a bit more.
Alright folks. A quarter of the way there. Keep those donations coming.

21 October
Hit $300 this morning. Little slower this year than last, but I think we should still be able to hit that $1,000 mark. Tell your friends and family about it.

as soon as I get my new paypal up you know you can count on me.

this guy literally helped to save my life last year, I can't express with words how amazing he is and all the good stuff he does so selflessly for others. We have to beat last years goal! Link this up anywhere you are allowed and send it to friends and family!!!

much love Jan, you know I wouldn't be alive today without the support and love of total strangers ( at the time). It means the world to me to see that purple ribbon on your shirt. Lupus sucks, it got me down and nearly out but you and a few other kind hearted people didn't let me give up and now I have a different life and haven't been getting sick much at all <3

THIS GUY IS WHAT REMINDS ME TO STILL HAVE FAITH IN PEOPLE!!!!!! <3333333333

Not me. I was out riding though. Hickam to China town and then out to Pearl City.

Marathon training is kind of taking a back seat to bike training right now. I have a 100 mile ride coming up on the 28th this month. Trying to get my ass used to sitting on a bike for 5-6 hours right now. I still get my runs in during the week though, Not completely slacking, just multi tasking.

And lke2drvgsr, thanks a lot. Shoot me a PM when you get some time with your message you'd like on the shirt.

Thanks for doing this.

My dad is suffering from extensive small cell lung cancer and is definitely a trying time for him and our family.

Thanks again.
