Nice pics and gear! And bump for making our own thread!

I'm shooting with an Alpha 200, I wanted the 350 but didn't have the extra $400 for it.

I'll post pics up later, Im at work right now. I'm still a noob with it. Any tips on using just the stock parts that came with it? I've been reading almost everything I can.

just wondering, but why go with the sony DSLR over a canon or nikon?

i noticed the prices are lower than the competition, but was afraid if there wasnt much, if any, aftermarket support (lenses and flashes and such) for the camera

Theres a decent sized market now and its getting even bigger with the new entry level dslr's that sony released. I've always had sony digital cameras and basically just upgraded as time went on. Plus all my friends have canons nikons and i didnt wanna be like everyone else. I looked into the D80 and 30D before i got my A700 and the Sony just felt better on my hands. And Theres plenty of lenses, flashes, we can use all the minolta lenses, accessories as well. I would say over all Sony is doing a good job of making a name for themselves in the DSLR market.

I think you meant "Quantrary" lenses. Just FYI.........they are crap lenses. I would rather shoot a camera phone then a DSLR with Quantrary lenses. They, along with Pheonix brand lenses are the absolute bottom of the barrel if not underneath the barrel itself.

Nothing wrong with 3rd party lenses. Sigma, Tamron, Tokina have come a long way. They do make some really nice lenses. I own a few myself. Figure out what you want to shoot, then you can figure out what kind of lens you'll need, i.e. no need to buy a telephoto zoom if you want to shoot landscape. Sony (pro) lenses are for true ballers only. Shit, they are eve more expensive then their equivalent Nikon and Canon counterparts.

Yo DJ MURDOK

I took some pictures in the same location you did of San Francisco, except I made a panoramic photo by stitching them all together.
