Default nsxmatt's log

I figure this may help me keep up my current routine. Plan on updating about every week or when I make decent progress in either body weight or weight lifted.

Always been skinny but athletic. Got sick last year with a viral infection, got out and back into good health and decided to hit the gym hard. Started in November at 148lbs. Gym routine went basicly the same till recently.

Day 1- Chest and Tri's
4 sets Dumbbell press 10-12 reps
3-4 sets flat bench press 10-12 reps
3 sets incline or decline 10-12 reps
3 sets cable crossovers
3-4 sets tricep extentions
3-4 sets cable pull downs

Day 2- Back and Bi's
4 sets deadlift 10-5 reps or failure
4 sets front then rear lat pulldowns 10 reps
4 sets rows 10 reps
4 sets 21 curls
3 sets preacher curls 10-12

Day 3- Legs

5 sets leg extentions 10 reps
4 sets deep squats 8-10 reps
4 sets leg press 8-10 reps
5 sets calve extentions 10-15 reps

Would take one day off and back on for 3. No cardio, no supplements of any kind. Meals consist of a decent breakfast and 5-6 meals after. I don't do the same routine every week, I always mix it up to "shock" the muscle by maybe doing bi's on chest day, or legs after only a upper back day.

As of last week I maxed my weight at 201lbs, fell back to 199 this evening at the gym so a gain since November of 51lbs. Will have some before and after pics soon along with the updates

Did back yesterday and legs today. Left acl started bothering me again so no squats this time so cut the day short. Did take a picture of my current back progress. Yes I know my lats are lacking, not because of lack of effort though

Chest day, went heavy as I could with no spotter today. Also took the reps down to mix it up.

Dumbell bench press -

80x12
90x8
100x8
110x8
125x8

125# dumbbells is as high as they have at this gym.

Decline Barbell -

135x12
185x10
225x8
275x8

Again, no spot so didn't go heavier. On the decline I get stuck, i'm screwed.

Incline Barbell -

135x10
175x10
175x10

Shoulder started to feel funny so just did another 175 and stopped.

Pec Fly -

Not sure the exact weight on the machine, did 3 sets.

Overhead two arm dumbbell extentions -

80x10
90x10
100x8

Pulldowns -

110x12
180x12
220x10
240x10

405x8

Shrugs -

315x10
315x10
405x8
405x8

Sit down rows -

Machine, did 4 sets of 10 reps

Looking way thick! I've never been able to pull off a lat spread and have it look good.

Did back and chest and hitting legs tonight. No gains in any lifts yet. Going to attempt a 500lb dead next week maybe this weekend so we'll see.

I hope so! I've done a 495 rack lift, but just want to do the dead just to say I did 500 Then go back to my 405 and 455 regular sets

Did back and chest, nothing new just yet. Pulled my right inner bi on concentration curls so may give it a few more days rest before doing biceps again.

i think rack lifts are harder then regular deads.

You should get it no problem.

Went back to the gym after 5 days off. All my lifts felt stronger, and a big plus my back felt great. Shoulder began to bother me again in the cuff on inclines but I worked through it and got a good workout in

Back to bulking and heavy lifting starting tomorrow! Gonna try to get to 210 in 8 weeks.
