Angeles Crest Highway Cruise August 2nd!!« » Reply  Edit

Hey everyone,

Over the last couple months it's been really nice to meet a lot of you at the local street legal drags and various meets. Now that our fledgling website has a good user base, we figured it was time to have our own event. We are planning on driving up the Angeles Crest highway on August 2nd. A link to the thread on our site can be found herehttp://www.motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431. It has all the details on where we are meeting, where we are going, where we are eating, and what time everything is going down. Also my friend was kind enough to already make the drive and put together a videohttp://www.motorgen.com/vid/sh...ser/3" so that everyone can see what the drive is going to be like. Please let us know if you plan on coming because the place we're eating is kind of small and we want to make sure to let them know in case 30 people are coming. You can let me know if you're coming by either registering for the event on our site here http://www.motorgen.com/forum/...2&c=1, or by shooting me an email at SeanPlunk@gmail.com. It should be a blast, I hope to see you you all out there.

Thanks.

Sean

Not at all, we have pretty much all kinds of cars. The fastest car on our site is a Civic in fact. Lots of my friends have Evo's/STi/S2000, etc. I pretty much love anything that goes fast, I don't care who makes it We are definitely more of a southern california board at the moment though, I'll give you that. If any of you can make it, we'd love to have you out.

Is there a second meet/pitstop closer to the mouth of angeles crest? Hwy 2 is closer for me than your 10:30am meetup spot.

Sure, we're meeting a group of people closer to Angeles Crest. Herehttp://www.motorgen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431 is the thread on what's happening. Take a look and let me know. My cell is 714-322-2324. Give me a call and we'll cordinate. We're meeting at least 2 other people (an Evo, and a Mustang) closer to the mouth of the run.

Awesome picture, I like your rims. What else do you have done to the car? I talked to my buddy today and he has everything pretty planned out. He said we can easily meet up with you. Let me know if you're going and we'll make it work - give me a call if you want

There is no way any turbo honda will ever beat a Corvette Z06. Trust me I have a 96 LS with a huge T3 turbo and i cant even come close. Hondas just arent made to compete with V8's period.

Here are all the details, including a meet up point for those of you up near the actual Angeles Crest area. See you Saturday

Angeles Crest Forest Cruise

VIDEO OF TEST RUN
Video.

MEET UP LOCATION - FULLERTON
Meet up at the North East corner of Orangethorpe and Brookhurst in Fullerton around 9:00 am for brief hang. Leave at 10:30 to pick up the 5 and head for an Angeles Crest Forest Run above LA. There's a McDonald's and Starbucks within walking distance of the meet up location.

MEET UP LOCATION - LA
For you guys meeting us near the base, I think the best location is the Shell Gass Station at:

4530 N ANGELES CREST HIGHWAY (SR 2)
LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CA 91011-3201
818-790-3836

We will come off the 210 and do a U-Turn in front of the Station at approximately 11:10-15 am and you can just pick up the tail as we whip around.

BASIC ROUTE FROM FULLERTON
I've selected a Biker Friendly route that bypasses many of the interchanges on the 5.

91 West from Brookhurst, stay in right lane as it immediately becomes the 5 North
5 North to 605 North 10 Miles
605 North to 210 West 16 Miles
210 North to Hwy 2 16.5 Miles

Once on Hwy. 2, it's about 27.5 miles to Newcomb's Cafe, the only place to eat up there. It's also where all the bikes and cars hang. Lots of exotic bikes on Saturdays usually.

It's about another 13.2 Miles to where Hwy 2 is Closed.

THREAD
Also, you can participate in the discussion of the details in this thread.
