Jackson was caught making a remark about Obama. Now Jackson is apologizing. What if Patrick Buchanan who preaches a similar message that black fathers need to be present would have made the remark about cutting off Obama's junk??

1. Who said Jesse Jackson "can" say that he would cut Obama's nuts off? You think people are just going to justify what he said just because they have a similar skin tone? You think people are going to think this is OK?

2. Cutting someone's balls off has nothing to do with race. If Pat Buchanan said this, it would be equally as offensive as when Jesse Jackson said it because the statement had nothing to do with race other than the fact that he thought Obama was talking down to black people (which also is not racist).

3. What the hell does Jesse Jackson saying this have anything to do with the "left?" Why do offensive statements have to be framed in these left vs. right and white vs. black paradigms? Why can't offensive statements just be looked at as offensive statements?

I just don't get the Right. To hear you guys talk, one would think that Christian White Males were the ones enslaved for 400 years.

This has nothing to do with race, so there's no hypocrisy here.

Although I do think that if Pat Buchanan or some other Right-winger were to say it, some people would read it as a racially-motivated comment, since black men were frequently castrated in the American South if they so much as looked at a white woman.

I think you need to study more on the subject. enslavement is a part of world history and has occurred in almost every civilization, but it was usually NOT based on skin color. enslavement base on skin color didnt occur untill after "chatel" slavery which came about from america. i also love the fact that your article argues a 1:10 ratio of whites being enslaved . if the U.S. spent about 1/4TH of the money they spend on war, to better schools you might know something about history
