Woo hoo! Fear Iran's "failure to launch." The Sahab-3 is a joke anyway.

You are aware that the photos were doctored in Iran, right?http://beirutspring.com/blog/2...-fake/ Is there clear evidence that Americans did the photo doctoring? Several articles circulating on the net point to the Iranians including ME websites.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think anyone anywhere has suggested that Americans or anyone outside of Iran did the doctoring. Where did you hear that? Also, the article linked to in the OP explains quite clearly that it was the Sepah News, the media arm of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, who supplied the already doctored photos.

Why didn't they just chop OUT the missile that didn't fire?

Drudge had a story that it may not even be a Sahab-3. It might be an old out of stock clunker. Why do I feel like the administration is in no hurry to debunk what happened? Are they all selling short?

As I see it...... The Iranians were obviously posturing and sabre rattling. Those who know the industry known that the Sahab-3, their most advanced long range nmissile, is complete shite. Inumberable issues I won't go into here. Now the administration surely knows this but how frightened is a public that sees misfiring and horribly engineered rockets being launched? Not very. I think their sloth in debunking this was absolutely deliberate. It allows the U.S. to keep beating the war drum with quips such as "see, we told you they couldn't be trusted." Even when they know those missiles pose no more threat to us than Iraqi WMD's. By playing the appaled Superpower they also get to inject Iran with a little artificial ego increasing the likelyhood that furry little monkey puppet president of Iran will polish his brinkmanship skills a little more. I honestly think the Ayatollah will intervene before he lets it get too far out of hand. Thank god. No pun intended.

Well it is vbx after all so I'm going to assume that he was just spinning the story to portray the American Media poorly. It's amazing just how much Iranian propaganda reminds me fo the things we tend to see from time to time in this country.

Why would Iran release an original photo after it photoshopped another pic? I think Agence France-Presse (AFP) did the photoshopping.
