Win XP sp2
Asus A8ne motherboard
Up-to-date drivers

Recently, Ive starting having a strange problem, where my USB card isnt working quite right...

There are 5 ports on the card, 4 are filled, but only 1 device is recognized as being 2.0....although each device is working fine.
Honestly, Ive ALWAYS had an issue with this pc and USB 2.0 - which is why I bought a new card, a couple years ago. Until now, I figured its been working fine, but since I got a new mp3 player (samsung P2), XP has been telling me otherwise.

Connected to the card, is my external HDD (what is recognized on the "Hi-Speed device" window), printer, camera/psp, and P2.
Whenever I connect the P2, the corner window pops up, telling me it "will perform better if connected to usb 2.0 blah blah"....but it is!

Ive tried moving devices around on the card, but it makes no difference...only the HDD is recognized as 2.0.

Using Astra32, the card is running fine, has an appropriate driver, and there is nothing as far as an update.
The P2 is running the newest firmware, but the message was displayed on all versions, that Ive run. Camera is running out-of-the-box firmware as well, but the "it would work faster if" window has never popped up.

You can see here that the HDD is the only thing recognized, everything else appears blank... ALL of my USB devices, aside from that, are....although I have other things filled...
However, under device manager, each connection is seen, and the description of the cards say "Enhanced", meaning 2.0...

What the hell...?

shut down,
take card out.
Turn computer on.
Shut Down.

Reinstall card, but in a different slot.
Turn computer on.

Better?

Well...that actually worked. Why? Is it just as stupid as the card no longer liked that slot?

Thank you, btw

the drivers in windows got borked. Installing it in a different slot caused the drivers to reinstall themselves.

USB is just plain funky sometimes. You notice if you install a printer in a different usb port on the same computer it has to reinstall itself?
