Is it really BUSH'S FAULT?« » Reply  Edit

I am not exactly the brightest box in the crayon , but is it all of Bush's fault that our economy is the way it is right now? I have been hearing about people having a hard time finding employment, business going under, gas prices rising, stock market plumeting, and on and on and on....

Correct me if I am wrong, but was Bill Clinton a much better president? When he was in charge we had a lot of a good thing going on.

Happy 4th of July

People who solely blame bush are fools.

As far the econ, it's a billion issues going on, but what do I know I have a degree and am not a media funded radical.

I don't think anyone will aruge that Bush has been a great or even good president. But you can't blame everything on him, or any one person.

It's a combination of both. Bush has been all but useless in the last two years. The Dems have been running Congress for the last two years and not doing a damn thing worthwhile. They are all talk.

Exactly... shitty timing coupled with a middle east that's been waiting to explode since Carter = Someone has to do the dirty work, and if he's hated, so be it, at least he got the job done. I liken Bush's presidency to resetting a long-broken leg that won't heal; sure, it hurts like hell for awhile, but in the long run, we'll be grateful that we went through it.

Yes Clinton was a much better president, who also had the fortune of good things happening in the economy, most of which he was only marginally responsible for.

Yes, Bush is a total shitbag of a president who should have been impeached and dismissed from the White House along with his entire cabinet long ago.

No, it is not all Bush's fault. He does bear responsibility for his cabinet members and other appointments.

Some of the problems with the economy can be traced to the massive military spending due to our illegal war, and the subsequent occupation.

FEMA management problems are not necessarily his fault.

As far as the intelligence 'failures' (or rather, the allegations that his administration created group-think in the intelligence community to cherry-pick intel for him to see that would further their agenda) are most likely his fault - though he has maintained plausible deniability through his cabinet.

The housing market crash has far more to do with irresponsible, greedy executives taking advantage of a lack of oversight and regulation, as well as irresponsible, stupid consumers getting in way over their heads than anything Bush could possibly have contributed.

Unemployment rates are what they are because of our economic problems and the massive legacy costs of out-of-control unions who have ruined the domestic auto industry.

It's easy to say it's one person's fault for the state of our economy....but I don't think that's very realistic.

It took everyone working together as a team to [freak] this one up.

Bush gets blamed because he's the only person the country knows the name of.

All his advisers, all of congress, etc people don't know who they are, so they don't take heat.

A lot of people are fixated on the economy being the main issue of this election, but it seems that so many people fail to put two and two together and realize that our economy is suffering because we're spending at least $200 million on a day on the war, and it will cost trillions in the long run with all the medical expenses and everything else associated with it.

Yes it's Bush's fault

that is one of the reasons. another reason is china and how much they have grown and increased their consumption of oil. although, the chinese government has recently stopped subsidizing gas/oil, so the prices there will go up, which will lower the demand and hopefully slow down the rate at which the price of oil is climbing at or even make the price drop a considerable amount.

California Residents:If anyone is looking to get a quote from Farmers, let me know. I personally know a farmers agent that will do all she can to lower your rates.

Oh and in regards to the economy it stems from a heap of bad policies so no one person is to blame.

Bush and Congress get the blame for a horrendously wasteful foreign policy.

The Federal Reserve gets blamed for manipulating the market and flooding it with easy credit.

American's get the blame for falling into the trap of buying all kinds of worthless shit with money they don't have.

I actually recommend people read Ron Paul's book.

Whether you want to vote for him or not, he goes into DETAIL about every step along the way that has led us to this point.
