Because he's better on the issues that matter to me than McCain or Bob Barr. If another candidate comes along that I agree with on issues more, they'll probably have my vote. Issues that matter to me can be defined as environment, foreign policy/war, health care, and abortion (in that order). He's not the perfect candidate, but he's far better than either of those 2 for where I stand on the above issues. Note: I didn't watch the video because I can't stand O'Reily for more than 30 seconds. I might try again tomorrow.

Well I think that's really the point O'Reilly and others are trying to make. O'Reilly, as much of a giant jackass as he is usually, can actually be somewhat reasonable at times. I've heard him be quite reasonable on some issues.

You'd probably vote for David Duke over Obama too, so that's not surprising.

i think we should support a middle of the road candidate...not an extremist on either side of the political spectrum.

Aside from ending the war, health care, international discourse as a foreign policy, and education. I would vote for Obama simply to end the stranglehold that the aging white male has had on politics in this country for the last 200 years.This.is.history. Right now, in your life time. If Obama gets into office it could change forever the face of American politics. It would be a moment you would tell your grandchildren about.
"The truth [the truth?] is that for reasons that have a lot to do with the U.S. government bureaucracy, we settled on [settled on?] the one issue that everone could agree on, which was weapons of mass destruction, as the core reason." Paul Wolfowitz

extremism is in the eye of the beholder. I see a lot of McCain's stances as extreme as they're the complete opposite of what I want to see happen with this country.

I'm trying to figure out what facts from the video make Obama the most liberal senator. I watched the video and didn't see one supporting argument for your theory. All of OReilly's arguments were all straw-man with little to no supporting facts behind them. I personally can't stand the guy. Everyone once in a while he makes a statement or two that I will agree with but the vast majority of the time he is a grade-A douche. The comment about the payroll tax is what gets me. I am right below the payroll tax cap and I'm going to be thrilled once my income level exceeds the cap and I no longer have to pay 12.4% on every dollar above the cap. Unfortunately as I'm only 28 years old, I'm going to receive little to no benefit when I finally do retire. I wish the public had the ability to bypass the payroll taxes as teachers and many government employees currently do. The tax system is currently designed so those who have middle to upper middle class wages are hit the hardest. We make too much to receive much of the low income subsidies and we make too little to have much in the way of itemized deductions.

john mccain is very moderate according to most people. i'm not saying i like him...but there is no denying his voting record. barack obama is very left of center...and his voting record reflects this. http://www.votesmart.org is a great resource...as it describes the voting record of each politician.

Well, to be fair your argument seems rather silly because an extremist supporter obviously would find someone with the same ideals to be rather normal. Middle of the road is most likely determined by the majority of people and what they consider middle of the road.

I guess my point was more the use of the word "extremist" when discussing anyone in US politics is kind of ridiculous. I was probably reading way too much into it, but I don't see a liberal or a conservative as an extremist. *shrug*
