There are so many credit cards, I just don't know which one offers the best "special", any thoughts?

I'm looking through http://www.creditcards.com/low-interest.php

and it seems that the best one would be... "Citi® Platinum Select® Card" since it only has an APR of 8.49%. It's also nice that I'll be going on vacation to Hawaii this year and it has a 0% APR* on balance transfers and purchases for up to 12 months... So I'm thinking I'll use that for most of my spending...

But at the same time, I'm also looking through other ones and theres like cash back, rewards, points, free gas, and happy ending massages...all sorts of things that may be useful, but higher APR...

WHICH ONE IS THE WISE CHOICE!?#!@

(yea I know none is wise, but it's sort of difficult just charging everything off my debit, and I know I can pay off everything on time, I already do.)

Some people are like slinkies, not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

I have a ton, even though I dont use them. My main two are, Amex Blue (5.9%) which I use for large purchases i know I will carry a balance on for a few statements, and I have a Continental OnePass Mastercard that I CHARGE EVERYTHING ON (gas/coffee/bills etc) AND PAY at the end of the cycle for the free miles.

use to use my citibank platinum rewards, but they made it much more strict to get stuff.

I now use Amex blue cash only, and no complaints.

I also pay off my balance each month, so APR's do not matter to me.

APRs don't matter if you pay off the balance in full every month. I would go with a rewards credit card, cashback/points/miles, whichever suits you best.

PAY OFF THE CARD IN FULL EVERY MONTH! Unless you have a balance transfer offer such as the one above, and even then, you should plan on paying it off before the introductory period is over, or you'll get raped with interest.

I personally have the Chase Freedom which has 3% Cashback/points on your top 3 (now top 5) categories every month.

I also have Amex Blue which has 5% cashback, but only after you spend $6500 in a year.

Capital One blows. They won't raise my credit limit after having them for a year and paying the balance in full every month, on time. The credit limit is a joke at $500 (my first card). Just last week I got a new card from Citi with a $3000 limit which can finally take care of my purchases. Just choose a card that makes sense with rewards that suit your needs. My Citi card offers rewards on food, bookstores (I'm a student), paying on time, and getting good grades.

I carry an AMEX Platinum and the AMEX Starwood Preferred Guest card.

It's all about the lounge access at the airport, the reward points, free airline tickets, and hotel upgrades.

Yes, as long as you pay off the balance in full each month, there are no finance charges, thats why they simply don't matter. They only come into effect if you plan on carrying a balance (which I don't do), but I get mad rewards points and concierge service through my card, plus the ability to do fraud charge backs

my first card was 500 too. at 18, it didnt bother me. 4 years later, and my limit is more than 10x what i would spend in a month

So much doom and gloom is taught to ppl about them. Its all "dont use em youll go into debt and get mad interest charges y0!!"

Instead of education on what they are really about and how you can use them to your advantage

Its the type of thing that seems built into the american education system, whenever anything can be remotely harmful when abused, we are taught to avoid it like the plague (ie credit cards, drugs, alcohol, sex, etc)

Get a shell gas card from mastercard - with 5% gas back on every gas purchase from shell and 1% back for every other purchases.

all the others are garbage with not much rebates.

Amex is great with cash back but you must spend approx 10 grand on the card before getting rebates.

The Citi platinum dividend use to be cool with 5% back with any gas purchases, 2% on pharmacies, supermarkets, etc and 1% on every other. But then they reduced it with 2% on gas which really blows.

Who cares if your APR is high as 25% as long as you plan on paying your monthly bill in full ALL the time. Eventually it will drop to 10 or less.

its easier to make "say no to drugs" wristbands than to educate people on the perils, and sometimes lack thereof, of drugs.

america chooses the easy way. gray areas are too complex. now are you a democrat or a republican?

I have a Citibank Diamond Preferred Card, I actually just got it 3 weeks ago and have only used it minimally. It has a relatively high APR so it'll be paid in full every month.

that was a rhetorical question, to highlight the lack of gray... failed attempt at wit i guess.
