Vibrations from 60 and up? Yes wheels are balanced.« » Reply  Edit

Ok so heres the story im stumped right now.

Friday- Car runs fine no vibrations at any speed

Saturday- Replace from rotors and pads with brand new ones, I go up to 60+ and feel alot of vibration. So at this point I already know my tires are bad and think maybe it time for new ones cause they might be unbalanced.

tuesday- buy new tires get them balanced and mounted all that deal, the vibration is still happening but this time the vibrations seem to wave from the front to the back then move from the back to the front again. very odd.

Is there any possibility this could be a result of a faulty rotor? It cant be the wheels at this point, but now i dont know what else to look for. It does it most at 70+ tho but u can feel a little starting at 60.

Maybe you didn't torque the wheels properly.

That i made sure was right multiple times. This happens even after the shop changed to my new tires.

Rotors might be shot.

Rotors might be shot.

that's not going to cause off-brakes vibration.

Are your wheels hub-centric or lug-centric? This can make a big difference.

I think they are hub-centric? (GT3s)

Its just really odd cause 1 hour before i changed the rotors it was fine then i changed them and it was bad. Nothing fell off thats for sure. I guess im still stuck in the (it must be the rotors) deal. Ill change them out with new ones soon just to get that outta the way. I just keep getting "it cant be the rotors" but you know .

if they're hub-centric, you need that little piece of plastic that centers the wheel on the hub, if not you risk vibration.

I've got hub centrics now without the plastic and I don't get vibration, but that could change at any time.

The center cap that people steal from our wheels most of the time?

its like feather weight.

no, not the center cap. It's a plastic ring that you put on the hub before you install the wheel. It keeps the wheel perfectly centered on the hub.

Disc brakes are NEVER off! The pads are always dragging on the rotor...

How are my balls? About 90-95%. Thanks for asking.

I have warped mine and it would shake even when i was not breaking. Pads are always touching.

I've been in cars where we deliberately super-heated the rotors, then pressed the pad into 'em hard to indent them, and kept driving without vibration. The only time we got the vibration with warped rotors was on braking.

Your right on the mark with the hub centric ring, your 100% correct. I finally found a place to order the one i need online.
