Well first of all fix ypur ignition timing, if that's what you were reffering to when you said"13 deg." Your timing should be set at 16* degrees not 13*. Remember that when your ignition timing is off, it may cause a engine to have ping. Maybe that's what you are hearing. Fix that first and get back to us if that doesn't help. Next thing would be a Valve lash adjustment. But please fix your timing first.

Yes It was 16deg before and I tried to adjust it to 13deg but it is still the same. I also felt that i lack power during accelaration especially on my way home.

Ummm if timing was to far advanced then it could cause pinging but no from to far retarded. Try setting bas timing back to 16, fill up with GOOD gas. Maybe check you fuel filter, could be getting clogged and running you lean.

But on highway at 100Km/hr to 120km/hr, I don't have any problem with the performance/power. It's just on the accelaration at usually 2.5K-3K rpm or you cannot push the gas immediately or else you will hear that sound.

Actually my bad I misinformed you. Ignition timing on a d16z6 is 16* yours is a d16y8 which is 12*. So set your timing to 12*. You don know how to set timing right?? Or how to read it with the gun? Set your gun if its adjustable to 12* then align th red mark on the pulley to the middle marh from the cover. Also take in consideration that we got a D series which is torqueless already as it is. Maybe you need a tune up?

I used the OBD2 datastreaming to get my timing angle. I had changed oil, replaced air filter except for spark plugs and other. I don't know what size is the spark plugs for this engine. Are there any adjustments needed or is there an advancer for this engine. Usually for old engines, there is what we called vacuum advancer connected to the ignition coil to compensate the rapid increase in gas/accelaration but I don't see any on my engine.

Well try replacing the spark plugs. And how many miles are on your engine? Any CEL's? Have you tried a Valve lash adjustment?
