ehmatt93, are you talking about the place where the 94-95 EGs have rear speakers? In the side panels next to the rear seats right? Those are what I actually wanted to find out about. I wanted to get some rear speakers but have them in the factory location. Do I have to get new rear panels? Is the speaker hole-less panel only a cover that I can remove or do I have to cut it or something?I think the OP is talking about putting rear speakers in the hatch area, behind the rear seats.

Sorry for stealing this thread a little bit but I wanted to ask this question myself.
Are you saying that I could get part 9/18 and replace my part 10/19 without replacing the whole panel (5/15)? Do my panels 10/19 just pop out from the outside or inside of the panel? And you said the wiring for the speaker is already in there if I remove my cover, right? And the bracket you are talking about is 11/20 I assume. Do I have to get all those little clips like 36,30, and 26 or do I already have any of them?

I also just found this when I was looking on majestic honda.
Do I also need 2/3 and 6/8 and all those other little screws? Is there anything I already have behind my current covers and don't need to buy? Besides the speakers of course because I am buying my own.

yes, you can just get part 9/18 to replace 10/19. no, you don't need to replace 5/15. you pop out 10/19 panels from the outside of the panel. I use to just drop the backrest of the rear seats and use a flathead to pry the panel off. the speaker wiring should be behind that panel, and yes you need 11/20. as for the clips, i am not sure which ones you need or not...

Just pull that panel off and see what brackets you need, that would be your best bet.

How do you pull of the panel? I want to know the correct way before I break it. So far I pulled on it from a corner and it wasn't doing anything.

what i used to do is pry it with a flat head from the part that is closest to the rear seats and just pull the rest out. do this as if you were to pry open the front speaker covers.

Ok, I got you. I just wasn't sure if they were meant to be taken off like that. I felt like I was going to break something.

I think that all parts related to the mounting of rear speakers into EG hatches are long discontinued. However if you are in need, I have black speaker covers brand new in package so send me a PM if you are interested.I can also coach you on how to install these since I have installed the Gathers dual speaker setup in my HB

I popped off my panel and I didn't see any speaker wire. I only see the window washer line when I remove the driver side one.

You have to reach down into the panel. They're probably clipped in somewhere down there. Mine were and i've got a base model 93 CX.Heck with buying brackets. I made some out of thin panel board. Cut a panel, cut a hole for my rear speakers... ran small bolts through the panel into the holes in the sheet metal that were already there and poof... speakers in the back. Everyone ALWAYS asks where the speakers are. They sound great without any holes in them or anything.

I'd personally rather use the brackets and keep it as OEM as possible without putting any holes through any thing. I think I will call majestic honda soon and see if they can tell me what exact parts I need. I will assume the speaker wires are going to be down there so I'll find them when I go to install my speakers.

Didn't put holes through anything. Three holes hold my bracket. Holes that were already in the sheet metal behind the plastic panels.Just thought i'd throw my wood panel board option. Saved me who knows how much $$$ for those stupid metal brackets that only come on some.

Is part 6/8 necessary to put the speaker on the bracket? The reason I ask is because 6/8 and the little screws for it are discontinued and cannot be bought off Majestic or SL. Can I get speaker to go directly on the 2/3 brackets?

Anyone? And does the speaker come through the 11/20 part from the first picture?
