Weird aeromotive fpr problem.« » Reply  Edit

I am running a aeromotive 13301 universal bypass regulator
http://aeromotive.carshopinc.c...13301

I got that one because I didn't want to spend an extra 50 or so in ss lines and fittings and then need a 50-120 dollar aftermarket fuel rail.Anyways I bought a weapon R fuel pressure rail adapter and have a 5/16 line running from the rail to the inlet of the fpr and a 5/16 return.I also have a jegs gauge right off the fpr

Now here's the problem. When adjusting the regulator If I adjust it to raise the fuel pressure the motor will run like crap (Finish reading) but the afr's will go lean (at idle I'm at 13.4,with the fpr adjusted for more pressure I'm at 15-17.xx).You would think they would go richer right? When I lower the fuel pressure the afr's will go leaner.I had it as low as 20 psi and the afrs would be slightly lower then normal which does not seem right at all that an efi motor would run on 20 psi.Any sugestions? I'm thinking maybe my return or feed is too small?Gauge mounting location is bad?

The gauge is mounted directly on the regulator,And I have been adjusting it with the line on.
