King Motorsports Super B16 Crate Motor

The B16 was the motor that jump started the Honda performance scene. Recently the larger B18, H22, and K-Series have been getting a lot of attention, however the B16 is still a great little powerplant when it is set-up correctly. We've developed a potent package that is a real high RPM screamer perfect for street, strip, or track use. Do you like the sound of 9500rpm and 210whp? This little guy provides a very broad torque curve and amazing top end power.

We highly recommend the use of a Hondata system with this engine. If you need one we will work out a package deal - tuning is key to making this combination work correctly.

Here's the quick list of specs:

B16A Block/Crank Fully Balanced and Blueprinted

GSR Head w/ King Stage IV Port/Polish
13.0:1 Compression Ratio
Wiseco Pistons

Skunk2 Pro2+ Cams

Supertech Springs

Crower Steel Retainers

Wiseco Pistons

Rage Header

Moroso 5.5qt Oil Pan

why go with a 7000 dollar b16? with that kind of money, after you buy a tranny and clutch and tune it. your in k-series territory.

so why not just do a K-swap. which will probably SPANK that b16 in stock form.

b16's have no torque.

yeah it can but as far as the super b16, i'm not really sure about the technical specs in relation to hp & torque....everyone's always quick to go the k-series route nowadays but
i'm more inclined to the b-series esp. b16..it's always satisfying to beat up on larger disp. engines whether b or k-series

for 7000 i could build a monster b20 and be in the 270ish WHP range all motor.
i just dont think its worth it for that b16. theres so many better options out there. who cares if its a b16. its 7000 dollars! if you wanna keep the B thats cool. no need for a K. but at least build a B with some torque. torque is what gets you down the track faster

Spin a small block past 7k with 4:30s

then talk

Personally, it looks like it's not a good bang for buck, unless you just want to crate a motor and be done and for some reason have to be a 1.6L.

They offer a 2.0. EleanoR is running a 2.0 built by King that is similar to the crate engine they offer. They might have based their crate off of it but I'm not sure.

Good thing about it is its all in one place. No worrying about where your head is at, did you get scammed on parts for it on a forum, did you put it together right, etc. King has an extremely good reputation so if you don't like to sweat and have the money, its a good option.

For 7G, you can buy three 1.6Ls and learn how to build.

That is a race engine, not a stock rebuild. Just because it isn't aggressive don't confuse it with a stock rebuild.

mar, he can learn how to build, but if he doesn't care to and doesn't have a need to know how to then thats a pointless option.

Yeah and spoon sells block braces so you can spin that b*tch til 11k+ rpm too LOL Tip of the day: Get some dispacement so you don't need to rev it to the moon to move and still have no tq. The only way I could see this a smart option is if you want a reliable road race motor for a 1.6L class and don't trust yourself to build one for less.

You can spin a built B16B to 11k without the Spoon brace.

I wonder what kind of rods you get for a 7k build? maybe they are Ti...
