EF vs. EG front sway bars« » Reply  Edit

Anyone know if the front sway bar from an EG will fit on an EF? I'm after something big, and seem to be rather limited in the availability for the EFs. What size are the bigger DA bars (2 door, 4 door, GSR)? DA will fit, won't it?

Thanks

im pretty sure EG bars wont fit on an EF.

DA bars are 23mm hollow. 4dr DA is the same as 3dr.

4dr EF civics are 19mm. 1mm larger than stock and still solid. ive tried it back to back with the DA bar, it seemed similar quite frankly.

if you want BIG, get the ST front bar, 22mm solid. but i would highly recommend against going that big.

I'm positive that the EG front bar will not fit an EF. The DA front bar will work on an EF though.

I have one of these. I was looking for bigger. For my application, 22mm might not be big enough. I do understand the considerations for a well set up FWD car. I have the HF front bar and ST rear bar on my EF hatch right now. This is for another project.

Thanks for the input guys.

I appreciate your assistance, but I'm not ready to openly discuss this project just yet.

you can always weld extra braces to the swaybar to make it more "effective".

just be wary of creating areas of increased stress. you brace part of the bar, the other parts will take up more of the stress and flexure.

Bad idea! You weld on an anti sway bar and you better be willing to spend the money to re heat treat it or you have junk.

I've now discovered that ST has a 24mm DA front bar. We're getting closer.
