i have a timing gun my unlce will check my timeing he just wants a genral idea on how the car works he use to big v-8s i know nothing about it he just told me to ask if any of yall knew if the prelude has an elctronic advance or a vacuum

Your uncle sounds like a back yard mechanic and I wouldnt let him touch my car If I were you. Tell him the vehicle has a PGM-FI set up which uses a ECM to monitor timing. Base ignition timing is adjustable on some model Preludes via the distributor. The ECM's controlled timing must be interupted via the scs connector prior to making any adjustments.

Go to http://www.helminc.com and buy a manual, it will be about $70, but it is worth every penny. It will tell you everything you need to know.

ight well i took it to a local shop and when i had my 8 lb fly wheel put on it wasnt marked so i can get my timing done
