Need help on 94 integra hood« » Reply  Edit

hi eveyone, I am having a hard time closing my hood. I guess this usually happens for much older cars, because my EG had the same problem. So, I have a 94 integra and hood would not close, slamming it won't help. Did anybody have this problem before? Any help would be useful, thanks.

my first instinct was to check the cable, but I'm not a mechanic, so I wouldn't know what to look for. the cable seems fine, and I just don't know what it might be.

my hood has something similar to that. When I pull the hood relase, the cable gets stuck and does not return back to its normal position. It stays in the open position.

For mine, it is the spring that resets the cable after you pull it to open the hood. It is kind of hard to explain, but if you are looking at the latch, you can see the spring. Use a scredriver and push the spring down. That will pull the cable back.

Thats how my old 94 teg was,
If you look where the latch is, you'll see the cable were it meets the plastic covering; try pushing it back...

awesome guys! I see that the plastic piece is loose, so all I had to do was to push it back down, and now it works just fine. Thanks for the help
