just purchased a 98 integra that had a alarm on it... i believe its a old clifford nova alarm. there are times when i arm my car, and couple hours later or the next morning, i find that my doors are unlocked but the car is still armed... this only happens like 50% of the time. other times it works just fine.. this is a A to B car, so i dont want to spend extra money for a new alarm if i dont have to... what can be the problem?? i never even heard of a function on a alarm that would unlock just the doors out of no where.

Are the power door locks stock?
If not, is at least one of the door lock actuators a "5 wire", [using manual door lock switch, or key on a door with a 5 wire actuator will unlock/unlock all doors]? If so, the linkage may have "slipped" where connected to cars door lock linkage, it will need to be "centered". Another possibility with stock or aftermarket power door locks is the unlock trigger lead, stock or alarms is shorting to ground every now and then. Maybe just a glitch in the alarm, try a reboot, disconnect batt. neg.(-) wait a few minutes and reconnect. 94

ill try to reconnect the battery and see what happens, but whats weird is that it only happens half on the time... so it may take couple days to see if the problem is solved.. and about the ground, where is the ground for the alarm normally at? so i can check if its lose or shorting

There is no "normal" place for an alarm ground.
I was not talking about the alarm ground, I was talking about the stock power door lock control, or the alarms door lock control output, they are ground "triggers", meaning they supply a ground pulse to lock/unlock the doors, if the unlock trigger lead, [stock or from the alarm] touches the chassis, [or any ground] it would unlock the doors. You need to answer my questions for me to be able to help. 94

That adds the possibility that there is a problem with the stock power door lock module or the switch in the drivers door 5 wire actuator.
I would start with the reboot and see what happens, if problem still there, find the alarm brain, get a model number, and unplug the door lock output, should be a 2 pin plug, [maybe a 3 pin plug with two leads] with a blue and a green lead, if I remember the Clifford Supernova ll has a gray/green, [lock] and a gray/orange, [unlock] and they are in a 24 pin plug, along with all the rest of the leads, you will need to fallow them to where they are connected and disconnect them there, probably at gray plug behind cruise control module in drivers kick panel. If you still have a problem after disconnecting the alarms door lock outputs you will know the problem is not the alarm. 94

ok, i started to lock my doors manually, since my alarm is set to arm 30 seconds from doors closing.... and havent noticed the doors unlocking on me a couple hours later. im guessing it only happens when i arm my car with the key pad... what can be the cause of that?
