Neptune to Hondata« » Reply  Edit

Hi, I have a 2001 gsr with a mild motor build tuned on neptune. I now need a re tune on my car but the only tuner in the chicago land area (superdave at whipfactory) has moved. Now I am in a deliema because nobody in the area tunes neptune. I am thinking about switching to hondata because there are tuners in the area that are familiar with the software. Am i going to have to pay for dyno time for them just to get where my car was at before or is there a way of grabbing that map off neptune? Which hondata program would I be best with, I was leaning toward s100. My car is a daily driver b18c1 s2s2 cams, jdm itr pistons, s2 mani, smsp header. Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no way to "convert" the Neptune bin into anything else.

Ok so i got in touch with i shop in chicago and they said there going to take a look at my car they said they mite be able to tune it. Its pro function in burr ridge. They asked my if my version of neptune is licensed. I have no idea is there anyway to tell by looking at the chip? Is there unlicensed versions?

They need a licensed copy of the software, it has nothing to do with the chip.

You also have the option of upgrading to the NepTune RTP board. That software is free so anyone can tune it for you.

Cool. Will it be difficult for the tuner to know how to do this if I tell him that he can tune it using this software?

No, if they can tune on Hondata they should be able to easily tune on Neptune. I had S300 to start off with and switched to Neptune RTP and had no issues adjusting to the Neptune software.

Good to hear. I always wonder and never get enough feedback.
