So the Azenis RT615's were not cutting it with consistent laps during 20 min sessions so i decided to try something new and go with the Toyo R1R's. I know there are a couple of other photo comparisons but not many floating around, so i decided to snap some to help you guys out. I have not yet tested these out yet but ill be on the track on the 31st at Buttonwillow, so stay tuned for some reviews against on the RT615's.

what's the treadwear on these?are the comparable in grip to the Azenis?i got a coupon for the R1Rs or R888,and i need some new track tires anyway.not sure if i want to step up to the shorter lifespan of the R888s.

Grip wise i am not sure, i havnt tested them yet. I have heard they are supposed to be stickier then Azenis and are more consistent and not get as greasy during 20 mins sessions. Toyo R1R's are 140 tread wear but depending on each company tread wear #'s always vary. I got them for a great deal, so why not try them?

so the wheel is 0.5 inches wider (higher when flat on the ground like in the pic)

it would have been great on the same size wheels

thanks George

Having the tires on two different size wheels doesnt allow us to see a fair comparison.

Here's a pic of 15x7 compared to a 15x5.5, both with 205/50 Ra-1s.

The wider wheel sits taller, even with identical tires.
