Wideband reading off?« » Reply  Edit

I recently installed an NTK AFX Wideband in my JRSC'd GSR. I've followed the directions to calibrate it. I'm currently running the wideband in place of my Primary O2 sensor. I ran the 5V input into the stock O2 sensor pin into my Hondata s300 and disabled the O2 sensor heater, etc.

I'm running the basemap from the S300 with one tweak that 98VTEC helped me out with (Thanks Blake! )While idling and driving around normally, my NTK Display seldom reads below 16:1. If I mash the throttle, the AFR goes down, naturally.

Well, after some tooling around with the S300, I figured out how to input the voltage and corresponding AFR into the Hondata so that it can log my AFRs. Driving around, my Voltage was usually around 3.8 V. Based on the NTK conversion, that translates to around 14.3:1 AFR....however, the display reads like 16:1. I finally figured out how to switch the unit displayed in the S300 to AFR and not Lambda (I'm new to S300...be gentle ). I haven't messed with fuel or timing....and haven't banged on the engine...just really gotten into it a couple times to make sure the system was reading boost, TPS, etc. All of those seem to be doing ok. My concern is why are these 2 displays SO far off from each other?

Blake (98VTEC) said that at idle (with his tweak--car was dying when I slowed down after driving -- especially on the hwy) that my AFR should be ~14.3:1, I think. According to the VOLTAGE that is being recorded by Hondata....when you plug that into NTK's conversion [AFR = (1.4 X V) + 9]...that is in fact what one gets. After plugging in 0V= 9:1 AFR and 5V=16:1 AFR, that's what AFR the Hondata display shows....but not the NTK display.

HELP?!

From hondata's mouth.

ELD is pin d10. You connect 5v input to that spot. Then cut two resistors, I think r136 and r138.

Yeah...someone told me I could input it into the stock O2 location...now, I find out that pin can only see 3.8V.

So...next thing on my list is to run the input into the ELD...not the stock O2 sensor.
