I've always determined the type of basemap from the head and cams, adjusting fuel for more displacement is easy. Ignition timing isn't.

running 1000cc's is not easy to get to idle well, but it can be done.

Ok, cool. I already have the 650's coming tomorrow so ill be on those. And then my head is a stock b16, with ctr cams. So then i should be starting with the stock usdm b16 map then correct? Do i need to change the cc's for engine size?

Yes, you will want to start with a p30 base code, resize your injector multiplier, sync your ignition timing & start tuning from there.

make sure your base ignition timing (with the distributor, a timing light and the service jumper shorted) is the same as the idle area of the map.

If you have datalogging, you just set the ignition timing at idle to match what Crome says it is running.
