My car dies at low speed. Not all the time, but after cruising on the hwy or at a speed above 40 mph. After cruising at speed, slowing to exit the hwy; the car will die when I depress the clutch.

I know you guys are going to scream to get it to a dyno and tune it! I'm working on that...but I was wondering what I might be able to do in the interim to keep the car from doing this.

Specs:
2001 GS-R w/ JRSC on 6 lbs boost. 440cc injectors, walboro 255 lph, stock fpr.

Any suggestions to keep the car from dying like this?

does it idle properly when stationary?

More ignition timing in the idle cells. More IACV duty cycle-higher target idle.

He sent me his calibration.

Moving idle at operating temps was set a little low. i raised that some and the stationary target idle. Increased IACV cycle to normal, added ignition in the idle area and in the decel area of the map. Also added about 1% of fuel at idle.
I really dont like the wideband he has. Its an AFX and only reads 9-16AFR. My buddies h22 had that wideband and i just didnt like how slow the sampling rate once. But anyway, it was reading 16 AFR at idle, could have been leaner, could have actually been 16. It no longer stalls while moving and pushes in the clutch. I recommended to him that he just get it tuned and all the little bugs will go away.

Yeah...I appreciate the help, Blake! At least the thing isn't a CHORE to drive, anymore. Just driving around at low load was a major PITA!

I'm going to pull the plugs and see how they look to see if it's getting TOO lean or what.

A real tune is in the cards. Some other changes are going to be made before I put it on the dyno.
