Why did you choose your Autocross/Road Racing number?« » Reply  Edit

Mine is 51. Ever since I saw Days of Thunder back when I was like seven, I have been in love with the #51 Exxon car.

Bit of trivia: Kyle Busch races a similarly-livieried truck in the NASCAR CTS as a tribute to Bobby Hamilton. Bobby Hamilton drove the movie car back in 1990 for Hendrick Motorsports, but died of neck cancer in 2007. I hate Kyle Busch, but I thought that was a nice gesture.

People often say it's an unlucky number, so it grew on me when I was young. Plus Dan Marino from the Dophins (my fav football team) had it as his number.

91 is the year the car was made. Makes it easy to remember even for my feeble mind...

I really don't have a reason for choosing mine, I do need to get some magnetic numbers though.

Do the calendars in Armenia really have months with that many days?

when I was a kid, my parents used to take me to the local carnival. One time they have me a quarter to play on one of those games where you put your $ on a number, then they spin a big wheel, and if it hits your number you win... (aka roulette) well, I played 12, and I won! Ever since, 12 has been my lucky number

Well I'm a co-driver so I got stuck with 100+my driver's number so I'm 110AS also known as DFL-AS.

BTW I saw you running last Sunday. I was like "WTF? Is that an Infiniti?"

Number given to me at my first event = 102. I thought it was appropriate, as that marked my descent into madness.

#66, it was that or #69. You can see why I chose the first one.

Yeah, 69 is just retarded. It really irritates me when I see d-bags with that number. On the other hand, "66" I think of Rte. 66, which is appropriate and cool

I agree. It is getting harder to get at track events. May change to 14, my son's birthday; Jan. 4.

My first track event i had 8008. Made with blue painters tape, the squared numbers looked like it spelled BOOB. Now that I look back on it, I realize how retarted it was.

Now I use 330 (my gf's b-day, March 30th)

When I first started racing I was #20...don't know why
Then I was #44...football # that I always liked
Then I was #74...my birth year
Then I was #47...birth year backwards
Then I was #10...birth date
Then I went back to #47 (see above)

Finally I think I'm gonna settle with #27....This is why: (sorry for the size )

My daughter's birthday
7/27/07
or I guess I can use #7, or #07, or.......

It was a low number, I like to be in the first heat, and easy to cut out of magnet sheet.
